January 24, 20169 yr Author After reading a few more rumours, and assuming that the BBC are allowing entries to be online prior to February 22nd, a lot of things add up to make this one of the 6 finalists: SEOVGeksGyE They have all taken part on The Voice in the last couple of years, I remember Georgia and Sophie May very well from last year - both had great voices. The song is three minutes long, and seems like something the BBC panel would go for considering last year's style of entry. They are also liking Eurovision-related tweets without actually tweeting about it. Apparently two of them are also involved with Team Midas, which fits in with that rumour as well. I like this song, it feels like what the BBC thought they were managing last year with a throwback entry - however this one actually pulls it off quite well. That said, it's not going top 10 or probably top 15 in the results and I would prefer something ultra-modern like a Margaret Berger or an Aminata.
January 24, 20169 yr Oh I actually really like that one. I get what you're saying with that being the sort of thing the BBC thought they were doing last year (I'd argue that a 60s styled number makes way more sense than a roaring 20s charleston number anyway but that's beside the point). That said, it doesn't strike me as the kind of thing that would even get out of a national final in the first place.
January 24, 20169 yr Author Yeah true, they remind me a bit of The Revelations from 2008 (?) with there being 3 of them singing a bit of a retro style. Just a random observation!
January 24, 20169 yr That is fabulous. If we sent that to Stockholm I'd actually admit to being British
January 24, 20169 yr That's quite nice actually. However I don't remember it and I only just heard it. Bottom 7.
January 24, 20169 yr Yeah I've nothing against sending a 60s girl group throwback but I'd much rather one that actually had a hook. SEND for the PIPETTES
February 3, 20169 yr Author This line-up was circling Twitter and Eurovision forums a few days ago, but take with a massive pinch of salt as always: Jess Wright - Heartache At the Disco Liss Jones - Second Best Michael Rice - A Better Man Nicholas McDonald - Beautiful Life The Northernettes - Let's Go Vicky Jackson - Starting Again ESC United are managing to pick holes in a couple of those rumours, but some people believe one of the OGAE people have leaked them. Personally I don't think they are all true, but I could see a couple of them being so.
February 3, 20169 yr Author I guess they could've seen the artist rumours and then be able to fill in the song titles from what they've heard but yeah they wouldn't have been able to leak it completely themselves.
February 11, 20169 yr This line-up was circling Twitter and Eurovision forums a few days ago, but take with a massive pinch of salt as always: Jess Wright - Heartache At the Disco Liss Jones - Second Best Michael Rice - A Better Man Nicholas McDonald - Beautiful Life The Northernettes - Let's Go Vicky Jackson - Starting Again ESC United are managing to pick holes in a couple of those rumours, but some people believe one of the OGAE people have leaked them. Personally I don't think they are all true, but I could see a couple of them being so. Well I can say with 100% certainty that the list is not correct, I know one of the final 6 this year and they are not mentioned!
February 11, 20169 yr Someone on ESC Forum seems confident that Neon Hitch (of various trashy flops fame) is involved in this.
February 14, 20169 yr Author Pretty sure the ongoing Neon Hitch rumours all stemmed from this fake blog post screencap from a few weeks ago: http://i.imgur.com/inG4Gpo.jpg
February 14, 20169 yr "It would be a huge honour to represent England" is possibly a give away that's completely fabricated for starters
February 14, 20169 yr Well what would eurovision season be without mad and random UK rumours, regardless of the selection format.
