October 23, 20159 yr Remember it will be hard to top 21, so of course she wouldn't try by releasing a song like RITD to start.
October 23, 20159 yr This is incredible. I love the way it builds in the chorus throughout the song. Adele has done it again!
October 23, 20159 yr me wait in for my call http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01471/SNN1612B--532_1471654a.jpg The flip phone  This song is her best debut single production wise.
October 23, 20159 yr I need to watch the video again because I can't pretend I wasn't distracted by Dixon from 90210 being the main actor.
October 23, 20159 yr This is utterly dull and uninspired :/ but because it's Adele everyone is spaffing themselves over it. She is really one of the most overrsted artists of all time. I agree fully with you. The vocal are great I will give it that but this sounds like anything that was on 21. Its very similar to SLY but with a bit more production. I don't get the craze over it personally.
October 23, 20159 yr I'm not overly into it but then I've never rated Adele. It's technically good but I've never been a huge fan of her voice.
October 23, 20159 yr Griff verdict - I like (on the whole). But not as good as Turn The Music Louder.
October 23, 20159 yr Eh, it's pretty iffy honestly. Chorus is fantastic but it doesn't really feel like she had much of an idea for what to do with the rest of the song, and by the end of the song I was feeling a bit tired of the chorus so I don't think it's really strong enough to carry the song. It's quite alright but not the standard of the 21 singles at all. Video is gorgeous but not much else.
October 23, 20159 yr I'm thrilled it's been such a triumphant comeback as this is a rather fantastic song with a knockout vocal performance. STUNNING vid as well. This is actually getting better for me with repeated listens at the moment and I feared the opposite would happen.
October 23, 20159 yr This is phenomenal. At first I thought it sounded a bit too much like 21. But that chorus and her vocals are stunning and there is a change in direction which I love. This already sounds like a classic. Could end up being her signature song. So glad to have her back. The vocals kind of remind me of don't you remember
October 23, 20159 yr My first thought during the chorus was Sia too! I wonder if 'Chandelier' has set the bar for a new wave of big power ballads because this certainly continues and builds on that. Listened to this half expecting to be completely disappointed (as it's a BIT hard to live up to the ridiculous amount of hype). I don't think it's quite the moment that the '21' singles were, but it is an excellent comeback nonetheless, it does the job it needed to do with that killer of a chorus. Welcome back Adele <3 My first thought was the verses remind me a bit of... 'tell me' by ØRKA. As in that obscure D'yermak'er DNQ in the last BJSC I hosted. High praise x <333 The most promo the song will ever get so here it is:
October 23, 20159 yr Think I might slightly prefer the majority of her singles but it's undeniable sounds 'big' no matter who the artist is even on the first listen and she's done very well not to disappoint! Thought there may be more comments saying that it's overrated but I'm glad there isn't! It feels a lot more mature than what she's done before (which sounds really odd to say as the rest isn't 'immature')
October 23, 20159 yr One my second listen. First listen was good enough to make me give it a second listen. Objectively speaking, even if it was on 21 it would be among the best on that album. It is certainly effective at what it wants to do. There's a lot going on through out it and the hooks are gigantic. Also, objectively speaking, if it was someone else singing it it would still be impressive so even though it's getting attention because it's Adele I still think it warrant at least half of the attention it is getting. One the negative side - the lyrics are even more obsessive and retrospective than Someone like You - she seems seriously unable to move on to an unhealthy degree and hearing this nearly 5 years after Someone Like You it makes uncomfortable listening. And not in a good way. I admit that some indie/alternative artists make a whole career out of being lovelorn and slightly needy (The Cure for one) but from a singer this autobiographical it make he sound like she has a very unhealthy relationship with romance. I'm not sure how long it will take to overplay this song. It's hard to describe it as disappointing but time will tell if it has the depth the last like Rolling in the Deep has.
