And my point is that the advert doesn't say what the song or who the song is by. How many people do you really think would look it up online? Most people would rather make themselves look silly and post a status along the lines of 'OMZG WHO'S THAT SONG ON DA ASDA ADVERT BY ON DA TELE!!!11!!!'

It doesn't matter anyway. It will be #2 tonight with a handsome lead.

It doesn't say what the song is on nearly any advert, songs on adverts still often sell quite well... :P

Also, there's a thing called Google (not to mention Shazam/SoundHound).

Yes, I know :P, but many people who have heard the advert probably don't take any interest in looking it up despite how many times it's being forced down our ears on TV.

If it doesn't move up and increase its pop bar after her XF perfrormance, we can scream and shout about it. I know you were joking, but her one place fall to #6 during an on air on sale release is really nothing to mention. :P

Why would they take any less interest in it from the ad than from anywhere else? It's exactly the same song. I did say that it's not near its peak exposure but it's quite silly to say no one has heard it and just pass off the fact it's on an ad all the time as 'it doesn't say what the song is, so still no one has heard it'.

People are being so blind here it's unreal  Surely 'Sax' is more known already and recognisable than the other songs released oa/os this week because of the advert? What other song released oa/os recently has had a HUGE campaign drummed up before the release with constant advert slots during primetime tv and mentions all over X Factor? A bit of perspective wouldn't go amiss. It's doing decently anyway and will shoot up even further tonight, but to say no one has heard it or knows it exists is totally delusional.

Well, because the ad only features a snippet of the song for starters and most of all, so no, it isn't silly.

And with Coldplay's fall, there you go, she is back up to #5. We're done with this. ;)

Why don't you just say 'MrIndependent is being so blind here it's unreal'? As if I'd be offended. Ignorance is never a good trait.

Because I was referring to Davidson on the previous page too. Get over yourself ;o

 Well, Davidson made a very valid point, as did you, Bre and torresgirl. Nobody is wrong or delusional here. Get over yourself too -- this is a discussion board. Thanks and bye.

I think she'll reach #2 at least personally, feels like the kind of song that'll get a huge performance boost
I think Sax will be fine, it would peak at no6-8 on 40k sales without an XF appearance and depending on tonight's effect it could jump up to no2/3 in the chart with maybe as many as 70k sales if the performances reaches new fans etc.
I'm dreading them showing a large snippet of her Uptown Funk performance again tonight, no one needs that song to get any kind of boost ever again.
How much of an effect does the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards usually have?

I doubt they have much effect. It's shown again on CBBC at 5:30 but I don't think it has much effect, just like Live Lounges rarely do much.

Does it matter if no one has heard Sax or if people don't know what the song is called yet? in time loads more people will have heard it and know who it's sung by, especially after her performance tonight on the X Factor.

As Notorious B.I.G once said "if you don't know, now you know"

I'm really excited for Fleur's performance tonight and expect her to get to #2 on iTunes. All she needs is to sell around 5,000 copies more... 6+ million people are watching. I mean... it sounds so easy.

She's not going to jump the 22% gap she needs to get to Number 2. It's not Like Ben or Little Mix received such a big boost. However she's going to get caned by streaming anyway.

So she's probably looking for a number 11 debut IMO
