I'm going with The Pogues this year, the song has grown massively on me over the last couple years and I prefer it to Mariah's now. Love both of them though. :D

Mariahs is a great pop song but the Pogues is just so much more unique!

AIWFCIY is incredible, Fairytale Of New York is alright. The Extra Festive version of the former is incredible squared.

Null vote since I like them both equally and tire of the annual war. Christmas playlist is going to drop on my phone this weekend :)

I don't think either are close to being the best Christmas songs out there. Mistletoe & Wine is my choice of big UK chart hits and in terms of best songs, Underneath The Tree and Where Are You, Christmas? both nuke these 2 as well.

The Pogues for sure, it's a great song. Mariah's in my list of Christmas songs I groan at and actively try to avoid.

 

Although I sometimes wish there were a few others that did well, Stop The Cavalry, Sleigh Ride, Walking In The Air, all those would be welcome.

I don't really know The Pogues song too well which is weird considering I live in the UK, but I never seem to hear it?? I literally just had to listen to it to remind myself of what it sounded like. Maybe I just subconsciously manage to avoid/ignore it every single year it comes back into the charts, whereas I hear Mariah's song hundreds of times every December without fail. Strange. Having said that, I did of course recognise it upon listening ("and the bells are ringing out for Christmas day")

 

Having just re-listened I was shocked to hear the lyric "you cheap lousy fa**ot"... Christmas classic?
