Hopefully this year will give people the push to realise the xmas #1 is up for grabs again so we will have novelty songs, wintry ballads and a couple of xmas song attempts all releasing for the top spot.
Second version of the NHS song up to #22 - Wasn't it like #30 earlier? Are they still #2 when combined?

Weighted and combined:

Before:

Justin Bieber 1.000

NHS Choir 0.854

After:

Justin Bieber 1.000

NHS Choir 0.913

Gained ~6% in the latest update. Could get back on top combined if the campaign gets a big media push. Still at a big disadvantage though and would need to get Bieber down to at least 0.4 and keep him there for the rest of the week if they want to make up the lead he has over them on streaming.

Honestly nothing to worry about NHS have no streaming!

As everyone keeps saying they would need to push Justin down to 0.4 for the next few days to even stand a chance.

Does Adele have the top album in the bag? Looks like she's too far clear for anyone else to challenge.

Yes she will get the christmas album number one by a mile. It's not even a competition for no1 album.

I believe it was 2003 when Michael Andrews and Gary Jules were No. 1 with "Mad World".

There was a bit of online campaigning around 'Mad World' (and probably the Darkness too) but of course in the days before Facebook that had much less impact.

Some might also contend that 'Mad World' was helped by being from a film. If you accept either of those arguments the last "normal" Christmas Number One was Robbie Williams & Nicole Kidman in 2001.

NHS only up to .8445 in the latest update, only a small rise since the last update. I was worried the boost might be huge in this update so I'm mightily relieved.

I'd say that's a perfectly legit number 1. A campaign would be a number 1 that comes out of nowhere purely due to a campaign of some sort. i.e. Rage.

Why is Adele back in the top 10? Has she performed or is it just a sales boost?
I just checked my odds at William Hill today and they were 4/11 (£109 win on a £300 bet) yesterday and are now 5/1 (£60 win on £300 bet) looking good :)

Yeh they were legit no1s alright IMO for sure. Both songs by Gary Jules & The Darkness were playlisted by radio 1 in late November if I remember correctly. The popularity grew and the best of all The Popstars rehash of a Christmas classic was rightly destroyed!!

I saw that too - I thought it was probably just due to how weak sales are and it was taking advantage of other tracks falling

With the Weeknd's songs, why is "Can't Feel My Face" in front of both its successors?

The Hills is ahead combined :P Plus Can't Feel My Face got used on Strictly.

No that's wrong. 5/1 means you bet 300 and you would win 1500 plus your 300 stake equalling 1800.

He means 1/5 :P

It always makes me sad to think the Xmas songs will be gone in a few days for another yr, until Mariah enters the top 1000 in the final week of next sept and someone mentions it lol.
