Excellent song, didn't think Monstercat had any trance producers. :o The video for it is very Chase and Status - gritty drama style.

I fully recommend you guys watch the video too, it's really well made and has a strong emotional impact, plus the music and lyrics really fit it.

 

The song by itself however is absolutely brilliant in itself, Gareth Emery is such a good trance producer and it's about time I entered a song of his. You may recognise his previous entry 'Hands' which finished 4th for Altyr Muunilinst, not that I expect this to finish near that high but I hope many of you enjoy it anyway.

 

(@Snakey, Monstercat don't usually do trance actually but are starting to get into it. It's Emery's first release on the label.)

Hopefully Monstercat and Emery will revitalise trance and put it back into the dance mainstream.

 

Powerful video with a story indeed, thats why I compared it to some of Chase and Status' music videos.

I think S DNLD has found its new niche anyway, 2017 is going to be the YEAR OF TRANCE.

I love this track a lot, was actually a potential as my next entry :( back to the drawing board :drama:

Well at least we didn't get into a confirmation battle over it in '93 :P I initially chose 'High & Low' from the potentials I listed earlier but found 'Saving Light' later in the week and sent that as I instantly loved it :heart:

The track came to me on my mobile as a recommendation and as I heard it, it clicked with me straight away, a good choice indeed.

Yeah another brilliant entry, prefer this one to Hands too!

And so it can be revealed that for the fifth contest in a row we've woken Kenny the koala so he can approve of our qualification to the final with 'Saving Light', which follows last contest's 'Unbreakable'. It is also the first time we've sent two trance songs in a row and qualified with both of them, and as trance music is regrowing in popularity in South Danaelanda at the moment we may well see even more of these entries.

Here's how we ranked our semi-final. Out of the ten entries we gave points to, only one of these disqualified - namely Buzzjack Mountain who sent funky house tune 'No Price', although they did significantly better than last month's 'EDM Progressive Spin Cycle (With You Tonight)' - finishing in 21st.

Too tired to write a commentary at the moment but as you can see we finished first in the latest contest, our first win ever!

We are now considering what to send to the next contest, which we have been given hosting rights to.

Congratulations Dan! :cheer: so pleased to finally see you win after years of competing. 'Saving Light' is a lovely song and the video was very compelling alongside.

 

Now time to 100% settle on my 20th entry for S DNLD 93 :o bring it on *.*
