Don't suppose anyone knows how well Whitney's albums did after her death on the budget chart do they? I seem to remember that the immediate death effect was quite underwhelming considering which I'll put down to lack of stock, so did they stick around/do better at any point after when shops presumably got new stock?

Why are Bowie's older studio albums going in the main chart then if hers didn't? Most are only a fiver on Amazon.

Given Rachel Platten has only fallen two places since the first update, I'd say she was safe for Top 40 for sure.

I look forward to this prospect coming true! :yahoo:

Album #17!

I was expecting him to fall further, not bad.

I guess you wouldn't know how close Tiësto & Oliver Heldens are to the top 40 then?

I really hope they make it - would be unlucky if they didn't as they've been top 30 in my combined updates for a few days now.

Not too far outside but they almost certainly won't make it I'm afraid :( Next week seems likely though!

On the Budget Chart w/e 25 February 2012:

01 08 The Ultimate Collection (1, 1)

04 RE The Bodyguard OST (2, 2)

07 NE I Look To You (4, 43)

19 NE Whitney Houston (31, -)

31 NE My Love Is Your Love (-, -)

36 NE Whitney (11, 31)

Figures in brackets are chart positions for 03/03/12 and 10/03/12.

ahhh.

next week hopefully then. I'd like it to make the top 20 eventually too but that'd require decent radio support and a big surge of streams so not sure if that'll happen. It feels wrong that a dance music legend like Tiesto only has 3 top 20s at the moment though [same amount as Oliver Heldens if you include Can't Stop Playing too!!!]

Budget Chart?
Budget Albums Chart - it's the chart where any album that has a dealer price (the price that record retailers pay the record label, distributor etc) of 50p to £3.75 is placed. Above £3.75 and the album will go into the main Albums chart.

“Fast Car” doesn't look like it'll be able to do enough to overtake Justin Bieber by tomorrow. #3 still means it will out-peak the original by 1 place.

Yesterday it was also still being outsold by “Stitches” and (from just 11 hours sales) “Work”.

Chart is moving Nicely at the moment songs rising and falling in the way they should :)

Always good when this happens after a while.
