Another AMAZING song and totally Gaga in every single damn way, but still Applause remains. I despair.

 

Monster is everything I want from a Gaga song, a real highlight in her discography and I don't think it'll ever get boring or sound out of place when listening to it.

Awwww Scheiße is out, was hoping it would manage top 10. Great track, the only one of hers to sneak onto my iPhone these days.

Another single now (and this time it is Applause :cheer:). Maybe Lotti would've been better to present this result but you're stuck with me so I'll try not to be bitter and biased. I actually do like the song, but I find it so limp and lifeless and un-progressive for Gaga as an artist. I can see what she was trying to do but it really is album track worthy at best! The video is very cute though. ANYWAY the song was released as the much anticipated lead single from Gaga's latest studio album 'ARTPOP'. It was released in a manic moment of EMERGENCY coincidentally coinciding with Katy Perry's 'Roar' (which completely trounced this worldwide). It went on to be a hit across the pond but not quite to the extent of the highs that she was used to previously and it did set up a fairly muted album campaign following on from it exiting the chart. It's energetic, boisterous, explosive at times and showed that Gaga was very much still capable of bringing the fun factor. Plus SwanGa wins <3 Well done Applause :cheer:

 

 

We will be doing one more song reveal and then we'll be looking to the POSTERS to find the biggest :king: and floppiest :mansoncheer: Gaga stans. But what song has narrowly missed out on the top 10? :o

I remember hearing 'Applause' for the first time. I was soo disappointed. It just seemed like a whole bunch of nothing. Then, like with countless other songs for me (not just Gaga ofc), it just grew and grew as I kept listening. My initial reaction doesn't match the way I feel about it now at all. The chorus is everything.

 

I hope I'm not the floppiest stan :kink: I'd say I'm probably not, from what I remember from other people's rates, but I certainly didn't give 9-10 to every second song or anything.

I remember I used to not like it for some reason but got into it weeks later :music:

 

If a Gaga mod doesn't like it then I guess #12 isn't bad going :heehee:

Applause is great, would maybe have it a couple of players lower but it is an anthem and a joy of a track :wub:

Its been a couple of years and I still don't like Applause. It still feels like its trying to be self-aware but falling short of it, to me.

"Applause" is definitely her worst lead single of her career, just so tame and lifeless, she should have started this era off with something a little bit more exciting and different, maybe something like "Artpop" or "Aura", now either one of those would have got interest and everybody talking. Instead everybody was on about Katy Perry's "Roar", which honestly is better than this and can see why it overshadowed this entirely.

I definitely agree it's nowhere near her best single, but I still adore Applause. It's completely infectious and still makes me want to dance everytime :')

Congrats UV on predicting it correctly! At #11 is Gypsy from ARTPOP. My 11 finishing 11th tho :kink: Get ready for some major stanning..

 

Gypsy was first premiered in Berlin at an album listening party, with a stunning acoustic performance (which I shall link below for those who want to (re)listen~) and of course a just as fabulous moustache :angel: This song is of course about Gaga realising that she can feel at home anywhere in the world with her fans, and at the same time it's a love song :wub: I find this song so powerful and incredibly beautiful, the outro in particular is especially stunning! Once again we don't have a video for this one ( :nocheer: ) and as you can probably guess by now I would adore one!

:cry: Gypsy is fantastic. So sad to see it just miss the top 10, but I can hardly fault what's in there. I'd have preferred Marry The Night to be gone.

'Monster' is nothing short of breathtaking :wub: Always a song I end up putting on repeat if it comes on shuffle.

 

I am team 'Applause' and have been ever since that initial first listen! So euphoric (and like Lotti said, makes me want to get up and dance every time :lol:). I can understand why people may think it was a regressive move but I get swept up in the joy of it every time.

 

'Gypsy' is good but not *quite* as amazing as it's made out to be. I did think it was incredible at first but it tired on me quickly for some reason.
