I've heard "Swings and Waterslides" on R1 a couple of times and it sounded like they'd get some good support in 2016 and across festivals. Such a shame. I really hope word spreads far enough that the band can get posthumous chart hit, it'd be a real fitting tribute for them.

surprised it's so high, for comparison, when Black died the other day he just went low top 40 on itunes :(

well there's quite a big difference between an established act dying to one that were young, relatively unknown and just getting started.

really sad news anyway :( :( 'Swings & Waterslides' is sounding good on first listen too.

Yes, but I would expect the established act to get the bigger boost

So sad about Viola Beach :( Swings and Waterslides is really good aswell :(

Awful news. The Viola Beach seems to be rising faster than any Bowie song did!
I wonder if Viola Beach could end up being an iTunes #1 ;o probably not as Lukas Graham have a giant lead but #2 possibly?

Bowie's fans had hundreds of songs to choose from to be fair and numerous compilations which contained his most popular songs. The success of the compilations since his death has been a truer tribute to his Legend status.
