... and speaking of Stacie Orrico! One of the song writers for (There's Gotta Be) More To Life had this killer song of her own:

Such an undeserved flop.

Omg! I loved this at the time and had forgotten all about it! :o

Stacie Orrico really should've been bigger than she was. Stuck, (There's Gotta Be) More To Life and I Could Be The One are all 11/10 pop moments <3
Kristinia DeBarge - Goodbye (how did this not smash)

Kat DeLuna - Run the Show (ditto)

Speaking of Stacie Orrico, "I'm Not Missing You" is incredible, I wish she'd have been bigger or at least kept making music :(

I was thinking the same thing! It didn't deserve to flop.

I can't believe this one only got to #10:

And on the topic of Jamelia

Less than 50,000 views for the video is sad.

I think No More is my Jamelia fave, you could say all of the Walk With Me singles for this tbh  But the use of that sample is fab! Beware Of The Dog is a tune though and of course the obvious Superstar but that's not really underrated :kink:
Alizee - J'en Ai Marre

Ok tell me I'm not the only one who thinks Coldplay completely ripped this song off

Oh I remember this song. I thought it was quite popular not only in France.

I never got the love of Superstar. It's catchy and massively popular at the time (I still hear it on the radio!) but never one I got obsessed with hearing. Same with Thank You. Maybe overexposure killed them.

These were the first two that came to mind for me:

and, a little older;

This by Clare Maguire would also be another. The music video parodied bigger music artists of the time but appears to've been taken off youtube.

Looking it up I see this one was actually a #6 UK hit! but I feel it's still been forgotten so I will share it anyway:

Something About You by Jamelia much superior to 'Superstar'.

Was there a song called 'Bad Haircut' from 2005 that was underrated can't think who sung it though?

  • 3 weeks later...

Powerful song, powerful message. Jewel is criminally underrated.

Who remembers this banger from 2003? That year was so busy for Pop.

:puke: :puke: :puke:

Absolutely horrendous.

There's something very nostalgic about it though. I remember buying the CD single. :kink:

Move Your Feet is one of my all time faves! :D

OMG YES

Legit don't think I've ever come across someone else who hates that song but it's unbearable.

One of the best dancepop tracks of the 90s, heading for a high chart position but it got disqualified due to allegations of bulk-buying. A reissue a year later only just sneaked in at #40.

Samantha Fox did a Sash/DJ Quicksilver-inspired cover a few years later, which also only just went top 40. Love them both!

Still listen to both now.

Tatjana's version was Top 20 on midweeks and then got removed for bulk buying and banned from the charts, after an investigation the record company were cleared and it was allowed to be re-issued and by that time the momentum was over :nocheer: Such a missed opportunity

The Box still does I think. I remember the days when Viva used to be TMF. I watched too much music TV as a kid.
Yeah The Box does but it's not the force it used to be. Songs used to chart if The Box hammered them and that was the only promo/airplay they got
