I wonder if Heart and Radio 2 will get on board with Kevin's track. Does anyone know which label he is being signed to? I've read The Voice is tied to Universal.

Would be great to see Kevin at #1 on iTunes at some point, he's still climbing!

He will end up on Universal or one of their associated labels - Stevie from last year was signed to Decca.

Downloaded the song but can't see this doing much more than Stevie did last year (6-68-Out) although would love it to become a proper hit, hopefully they will follow it up quickly with another single.

The song from last year got to #3 on the sales chart and this was during the time when the chart was from Sunday - Saturday. It's probably only Drake that will sell more between today and Saturday.

That was last year (and streaming was already added to the official chart) but you were talking about years ago...

Agree, sadly. Shame that BBC radio won't be able to push it properly, hopefully this is something that changes when the show moves to ITV.

Part of me thinks it could still live on longer than Louisa Johnson's 09-12-61-xx chart run, although two weeks in the T40 might be a stretch; let's hope not!

What I mean is that if the chart was Sunday - Saturday and only based on sales like how it was years ago then this song from the winner of the voice would be a major number one contender.

Just like how last year's song would have contended for number one under the old criteria.

I've get what you mean, but we are now and it has no sense to talk about this every second week how it would have been if... I know you're not liking the chart anymore with the current rules (you've expressed your opinion many times) but you need to get over it slowly. One year past slowly since then.

I heard the Kevin Simms track on Big Top 40 earlier, urging me to 'turn my radio up'. Only if it was Chorley FM!

He's at 0.9534 now so slowly reeling in Drake.

'Desire' was stalling hard for what felt like an age...what's with the sudden surge up iTunes? :o

Just the fact it's 59p again. I think the first week it was 59p it wasn't getting much AirPlay, but when they made it 59p two/three weeks later and put it on the top of the 59p batch it's helped loads. Helped more than them performing on the voice!

So hope this can snatch a week in the Top 20 officially - It's their only single not to make the Top 20 so far.

It's hilarious. I've never known an act who get no boost on iTunes from performing on a big promotional slot, I mean 'Eyes Shut', 'Desire' and 'Shine' had no impact from any live television performances! I'm glad their label are on the ball with 59p because it helped 'Eyes Shut' dramatically.

70 Nick Jonas Close (feat. Tove Lo)

Great to see this slow jam on the rise again. It's shaping up to be a big hit in the US, which is always a good sign and it's now top 50 on Spotify here, something Chains and Levels never managed.

I'm surprised "Levels" never managed it. It seemed to be one of those songs that didn't peak very high, but quite a few people knew of it. I really hope "Close" can eventually go top 40, it's soooo good.

'Close' is faaaar better than 'Jealous' and 'Levels' (and 'Cake By The Ocean' lol 👀), would quite like to see it become a hit.

I'm a Jonas fan, but think 'Levels' was a very weak single. 'Close' really stands out (for the use of steal drums alone!) so I'm not surprised it's doing well at this early stage, for the use of steal drums alone. It's a really interesting sound for Nick, even though it sounds like more of a Tove Lo song. I can see it having success similar to Selena's slow jams.
