May 8, 20169 yr Skepta shifting 19k? Didn't think that was possible. Hope Radiohead will be the ones to overtake him instead of Beyoncé or Drake
May 8, 20169 yr Really hope Craig David/Blonde can get a new peak now that the song has been reduced to 59p on iTunes, It's had an impressive chart run so far: 17-19-20-15-15-15-19
May 8, 20169 yr The physical of A Moon Shaped Pool, the Radiohead record, isn't out till June 17th. Somewhat annoyingly you can't seem to buy the CD/Vinyl and download together anywhere at present.

Good point - you get an instant download if you buy the sixty quid boxed set off their website, but if you order the normal CD or LP you have to wait until it arrives in the post, or more likely pay for it separately. Which seems a bit greedy of them, actually.
May 9, 20169 yr Can Calvin/Rihanna do it this week? I hope so! When is the video out? That could help. I'd love JT to get it too, but that isn't likely to happen just yet..
May 9, 20169 yr Radiohead sold 16k last night according to @MintRoyale. James Blake and Anohni are at 13 and 14 (in that order), and they've apparently sold the exact same amount. As for singles - Justin Timberlake is at 3, Ariana is 30 and Dua Lipa is 37.

What a 3 masterpieces that coming out at the same week. WEIRD!
May 9, 20169 yr Author The chart has got a 90s feel to it lately, Craig David, Justin Timberlake, who's next, Lemar :heehee:

I am another fan that will wait until June to get the CD but will download in the meantime from a source (that will not count as a chart sale).
May 9, 20169 yr The chart has got a 90s feel to it lately, Craig David, Justin Timberlake, who's next, Lemar :heehee: All three of those individuals had their biggest success in the 00s... ^_^
May 9, 20169 yr The chart has got a 90s feel to it lately, Craig David, Justin Timberlake, who's next, Lemar :heehee: Lemar wasn't from the 90s. I wouldn't even categorise JT and Craig David as 90s artists either (although technically you could). I hope Rihanna and Calvin can snatch the #1 this week. It's been too long since Rihanna had her last UK #1. She used to get one every year. :(
May 9, 20169 yr I guess the early 2000s feel like an extension of the 90s though and that's why people are misremembering. I don't really feel the decade got going until about 2002/3. There's actually a name for that phenomenon but I can't remember what it is. This page talks about it though - http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main...OfTheMillennium

There's actually a name for that phenomenon but I can't remember what it is. This page talks about it though - http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main...OfTheMillennium In music terms I feel like it was late 2002 that the decade 'got going', and specifically I always think of albums like Justified and Stripped as pushing music out of the 90s and onto the next stage (and in the UK the advent of Girls Aloud). 2000 and 2001 certainly felt like 90s extension years music-wise to me while the first two thirds of 2002 were a strange bland nomansland (that 'safe' polished pop courtesy of Blue, Liberty X, Atomic Kitten etc) before everything turned on its head right at the end and ready for 2003. I guess Craig David kicked off with Re-Rewind in 1999 and Justin was the driving force in 'N Sync so I can see why these two bring back 90s nostalgia. Lemar of course was on Fame Academy which started in late 2002 I think. Edited May 9, 20169 yr by gooddelta

May 9, 20169 yr Is James Blake's album digital only at the moment as well? Disappointing showing for a Monday midweek if not, guessing he'll miss the top 20 :( Strong sales for Skepta's album, would have netted him an easy #1 if released a couple of weeks earlier.
May 9, 20169 yr I guess there's no chance of JT being Number 1 this week then. I'd rather Calvin/Rihanna did it, Drake has had his time at the top. Didn't think we'd see Little Mix in the Top 10 already. Nice to see Shawn/Camilla finally go Top 40 though :)
May 9, 20169 yr What a great fresh chart. Rihanna patching up her album campaign with featured singles as usual, lots of great new entries on the album chart and I'm surprised by that early lead for Skepta (is there radio support? promo?)
