July 10, 20169 yr 4-1 to France, France beaten a good German side in the semis, Portugal seem to be more of a fluke to be in the Final, they were hardly impressive in the competition, with Ronaldo shooting blanks at one stage, in my opinion France should coast this with a few goals in 90 mins, with Portugal getting the odd goal in the first half.
July 10, 20169 yr It could be an emotional occasion for France if they win giving the events of last November. There's also the Charlie Hebdo attacks in January 2015 to take into consideration as well. I had a strong feeling ever since November that they would win this tournament as a tribute to victims of those horrible attacks. Tonight there will be no better place in the world to be than France, I remember the massive celebrations that there were in 1998 after they won the World Cup at home and I think tonight could be just as lively that.
July 10, 20169 yr I think the way Portugal set themselves up has been very tactical and it'll be interesting to see France coming out and trying to break that down!
July 10, 20169 yr Ronaldo is off already due to an injury, I guess this is where Portugal will fall to pieces.
July 10, 20169 yr Pretty bog standard so far... at least there is an England person in the final... the Ref :basil: And those moths are biting tonight.
July 10, 20169 yr The Gignac chance was a total failure for him - should have put the game to bed and would have on another day, I'd be gutted if I were him. Onward though, looks like it's going to be a tense extra time like Spain - Holland in 2010.
July 10, 20169 yr International finals really are the worst football games ever. The 2012 Final was an exception but after 2-0 that game was pretty much over as a spectacle anyway.
July 10, 20169 yr I can't believe they're actually going to do it. They're actually going to pull a Greece. Sitting in a Portugese bar and everyone is going mad here  I can imagine! They've been searching for it for so long. Kind of like us.
July 10, 20169 yr The footballing Gods doing what they normally do, making up for a complete fluke. Portugal are the winners this tournament deserves, poop.
July 10, 20169 yr So the 12 year rule kind of still applies giving no one was giving them a prayer pre-KO. Funny how it's swung round from 12 years ago when Portugal were on the exact same receiving end! I think because of that it makes this tournament a lot more memorable. A routine 2-0 France win tonight would have been boring & predictable... Happy for Ronaldo :cheer:
July 10, 20169 yr What a flukey win, Ronaldo has done sod all. I really feel gutted for France as a host nation to get that far to the final. And for the record, that was the second match that was taken to extra time for a win since 1960 the first European match.
