It seems like almost anything can become a million seller in the current climate, it doesn't exactly hold much prestige now.

If anything, it's the album that's more of a flop (currently her lowest seller I'd say?) but I'm not gonna go into all of that as I recall there was a pretty big debate about that in a prediction thread a couple of weeks ago and I'd rather another one of those doesn't happen...

I'd be interested to know how many of those 'sales' are actually downloads rather than streaming. I'd guess around 500k?

^^ I really hope sales awards are looked at, I'm all for streaming and the ratio but literally everything seems to be getting certified now - We have singles that have never troubled the Top 75/100 getting awards along with album tracks. Soon million 'sellers' and certifications will mean nothing - They thresholds should be doubled (Silver - 400k, Gold 800k, Platinum 1.2 million etc,)

It's kind of fake sales if you know what I mean? I know the physicals died out years ago, but it was always a better judgement of how popular a song was. People had to go out and buy the music.

I doubt it's even that; probably under 300k downloads, I'd say!

yep it's definitely not anywhere near 500k.

 

at the moment 85% of its sales are streaming, though I imagine its sales to stream ratio wasn't quite as small when it was at its peak, so 300k downloads sounds about right.
