July 8, 20169 yr The UK version was mostly English Yes you're right, I was listening to a version on Big Hits 97, which must have been the Spanish original for some reason (a bit like how Suerte by Shakira was on Hits 52 because they had to wait until Hits 53 for Whenever, Wherever).
July 8, 20169 yr There has to be a line to draw as partially English tracks are infiltrating the list of foreign hits now. I've added all the suggestions from this thread so far to the best of my knowledge. Considered putting a couple of Ricky Martin songs up but upon listening they are heavily English. You missed out that 7 Seconds contains Wolof - the first verse is entirely in it And Rock Me Amadeus has to come off as I believe UK version is entirely in English
July 9, 20169 yr Has anyone ever heard this English version of 'Rock Me Amadeus'? I've looked up the UK issue on Discogs and it's labelled as The American Edit, which is on YouTube and is in German. There are obviously are some English words in it, but they're being used within the German for effect. Also I just remembered about the Radha Krishna Temple who had two hits on the Beatles' Apple label in 1969-70: the Hare Krishna Mantra and 'Govinda' (a different version from the Kula Shaker song).
July 9, 20169 yr Another Latin one is 'Gaudete' by Steeleye Span (#14 in 1973). Also another fairly obvious one that I'm surprised no one pointed out yet - PSY's 'Gentleman' :P

Actually I may be wrong on Falco after all.. just listened to the 1986 Y/E chart show and it's in German
July 9, 20169 yr Edith Piaf - Milord (French) Air - Sexy Boy (French apart from the title, although both words are valid French words). Petula Clark - Casanova/Chariot (German and French respectively)
July 9, 20169 yr 1992 - Enya - The Celts (Gaelic #29) 2010 - Jessy Matador - Allez Olla Ole (French #81) 2012 Michel Telo - Ai Se Eu Te Pego (Brazilian/Portugese #66) This should have been huge! Edited July 10, 20169 yr by ___∆___

September 17, 20213 yr A bump for this. We know BTS - Life Goes on can be added as well as the big 2017 reggaetón hits Despacito & Mi Gente. I also spotted in the OP that Gaudete is most definitely not a Spanish song!
September 17, 20213 yr How about Encore - Le Disc Jockey - a no. 12 in February 1998. Entirely in French! Mind you a complete rip off of Encore un Fois lAmmtUGRX8c
September 17, 20213 yr Master KG - Jerusalema (Zulu) Vegedream - Raminez la coupe a la maison (French) Kali Uchis - Telepatia (Spanish/English) Rosalia x Travis Scott - TKN (Spanish/English) Go_A - Shum (Ukrainian) Barbara Pravi - Voila (French)
September 17, 20213 yr Didn't José Feliciano peak at #40 with Feliz Navidad a few Christmases ago? Edited September 17, 20213 yr by rafik4u
September 17, 20213 yr I never knew the Sash! song Encore Une Fois meant "one more time". Puzzled me for years.
September 17, 20213 yr Didn't José Feliciano peak at #40 with Feliz Navidad a few Christmases ago? Yeah it was technically this year when he did that with the chart show on New Year's day!
