July 8, 201610 yr it seems today's two chart dropouts are both songs that only spent a single week top 40 then ('Hype' and 'Tilted'). :( I just wish we'd remove the deadwood already.
July 8, 201610 yr Yay, Work from Home is actually dropping! If only Panda, Cheap Thrills & Sex could do the same (yay to them cutting out half the song as well)

After they formed under the name Pectoralz, Guy Berryman joined the group as a bassist and they changed their name to Starfish. Will Champion joined as a drummer, backing vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist, completing the line-up. Manager Phil Harvey is often considered an unofficial fifth member. The band renamed themselves "Coldplay" in 1998, before recording and releasing three EPs; Safety in 1998, Brothers & Sisters as a single in 1999 and The Blue Room in the same year. The latter was their first release on a major label, after signing to Parlophone. They achieved worldwide fame with the release of the single "Yellow" in 2000, followed by their debut album released in the same year, Parachutes, which was nominated for the Mercury Prize. The band's second album, A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), was released to critical acclaim and won multiple awards, including NME's Album of the Year. They have also come top of the BBC Radio 2 poll of the favourite album of all time. Their next release, X&Y, the best-selling album worldwide in 2005, was met with mostly positive reviews upon its release, though some critics felt that it was inferior to its predecessor. The band's fourth studio album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008), was produced by Brian Eno and released again to largely positive reviews, earning several Grammy nominations and wins at the 51st Grammy Awards. On 24 October 2011, they released their fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto, which received mixed to positive reviews, topped the charts in over 34 countries, and was the UK's best-selling rock album of 2011. The band have won a number of music awards throughout their career, including eight Brit Awards—winning Best British Group three times—five MTV Video Music Awards and seven Grammy Awards from 25 nominations. Coldplay have sold more than 80 million records worldwide. In December 2009, Rolling Stone readers voted the group the fourth-best artist of the 2000s. Coldplay have been an active supporter of various social and political causes, such as Oxfam's Make Trade Fair campaign and Amnesty International. The group have also performed at various charity projects such as Band Aid 20, Live 8, Sound Relief, Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief, The Secret Policeman's Ball, Sport Relief and the UK's Teenage Cancer Trust. - Wikipedia Top 100 Chart History (year/peak/title): 1999 92 Brothers & Sisters -NAS- 2000 35 Shiver -1- 2000 04 Yellow -2- 2000 10 Trouble -3- 2002 02 In My Place -1- 2002 10 The Scientist -2- 2003 09 Clocks -3- 2003 87 Remixes -EP- 2003 100 God Put A Smile On Your Face -4- 2005 02 Speed Of Sound -1- 2005 04 Fix You -2- 2005 10 Talk -3- 2008 08 Violet Hill -1- 2008 54 Lost! -3- 2008 01 Viva La Vida -2- 2009 28 Life In Technicolor II -4- 2010 88 A Message 2010 13 Christmas Lights -NAS- 2011 06 Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall -1- 2011 01 Paradise -2- 2011 04 Princess Of China (Coldplay & Rihanna) -4- 2011 22 Charlie Brown -3- 2013 12 Atlas -OST- 2014 10 Magic -1- 2014 48 Midnight -IG1- 2014 09 A Sky Full Of Stars -IG2/2- 2014 70 Another's Arms -AT- 2014 95 Miracles -OST- 2015 07 Adventure Of A Lifetime -1- 2015 52 Everglow -IG- 2016 06 Hymn For The Weekend -2- 2016 71 Up&Up -3- Album Discussion Here
July 8, 201610 yr If every artist held back like Sigala then maybe the chart would actually be interesting to listen to... not necessarily. Just a few years ago when over half of songs were held back we still had songs with ridiculously long chart runs, some even longer than the long-runners of today ('Happy'/'Let It Go'/'All of Me'/'Ho Hey')
July 8, 201610 yr it seems today's two chart dropouts are both songs that only spent a single week top 40 then ('Hype' and 'Tilted'). :( I just wish we'd remove the deadwood already. 'Tilted' should have multiple weeks in the top 40  Glad it at least scraped in i guess. 'Hype' on the other hand is a misfire from both parties so i'm glad to see that swiftly out.
July 8, 201610 yr And for those of you wanting 'Hymn For The Weekend' to exit the chart soon, well it's not going anywhere. Especially with the SeeB remix gaining popularity quickly on Spotify.
July 8, 201610 yr I swear it was the same songs opening up this chart when I last listened a month ago. At least Hymn For The Weekend is a good one. (get Tilted back in this chart immediately)
July 8, 201610 yr Hymn For The Weekend is probably my favourite song of the year so far, absolutely magnificent.

July 8, 201610 yr It's crazy to see songs like Needed Me and the MK song being on 100k+ sales already in their first week in the top 40. Or at least, a big and very visible difference from how the charts used to work!
July 8, 201610 yr 'Cake By The Ocean' is just annoying. The follow-up 'Toothbrush' isn't much better either. DNCE so far not making a good impression :P
