The editing was ATROCIOUS in Guy video too.

She is so bad at editing and makes it jumpy and bitty.

This is :///

Perfect Flop to flop into toilet as buzz single before she ends as a C List dropped star ñerforming in 1 man acts on Shadow Puppet nights.

I actually LOVE this video. Captures the vibe of the song perfectly and while I'm not a huge fan of the song, hearing it alongside the video definitely makes me appreciate it more.

Plus, she looks incredible. Best she's ever looked by far!

The editing was a bit too manic for my liking. It does compliment the song well though, my eyes just cannot deal with the franticness. Such editing and flashing lights usually make me feel a bit dizzy.

I am living for the swinging microphone however and she looks FABULOUS *.*

That picture above reminds me of the Judas video.

Anyway, the song has grown on me a bit. I really like the first 90 seconds including the key change, then it all goes downhill from there. The video however is still too frantic for me, but I like the concept and she looks fabulous.

didn't pick up on this but just seen on twitter:

1974 was the year her aunt died!

Aw. Such a nice touch.

This is still very very very weak in comparison to her previous body of work. It just doesn't work for me at all.

The most I can really see happening with this now is maybe a stabilising for a couple of weeks in the lower parts of the top 40.

I do realistically think this could be the era where she relinquishes her status as a hitmaker (not that I want that to happen of course), but I think she's okay with that. Thinking about how it might be from her point of view, she's made her money and she's achieved an amazing amount plus she'll always have her fanbase and be a successful touring act. Her imperial phase was 6/7 years ago now and she's had her work cut out with all the brand damage she endured about 3 years ago.

Absolutely.

She is more Nelly Furtado than Madonna. Her glory days were long ago just like Britney and like the Spice Girls she faded away but still has her core fans for touring.

forgive me if this has been posted but the latest ep of the Switched on Pop podcast is an hour long one on Gaga and it really engrossed me and got me to think back over her career. I haven't rly been into her for a while but it reignited my interest in both her back catalogue and Perfect Illusion, which had been growing on me slightly but has been stuck in my head since listening to this earlier.

anyway if y'all are interested you can listen to it here - it's a rly good listen every ep if you like pop music, and no this isn't an ad goodbye

This has made me feel a lot better about 'Glory' and 'Make Me' TBH.

Sad to see this underperforming so much. I still love it, but have no desire to go back to it. Weird.

I've decided I really quite like this. I don't know if it's moved up in my Gaga single rankings, but I am really appreciating this a lot more than I did.

I just think this release was timed really badly. This was not the era that she needed to "release what she truly wants to release". She's not at that stage of her career to be able to easily bounce back from it after how badly 'ARTPOP' underperformed! She could've done with something more commercially appealing to get the public back on side before going for something like this, imo. She's not Britney-level just yet where she can just release what she wants, whenever she wants and it doesn't matter if it flops or not. She really could do with a hit and I really hope 'Joanne' can deliver with that on a couple of tracks at least, but I highly doubt it. :(

All hype for this album seems to have been and gone already and we're only 4 weeks (?) into the campaign starting. It's frustrating, coz this is the last thing I want for her. She deserves huge success again! :(

The Chainsmokers managed to majorly piss off Lady Gaga fans in a recent interview as they're not fans of 'Perfect Illusion'. Also interesting to know DLMD was meant to go to Rihanna :o

The smoking-hot dance duo of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall recently spoke with Rolling Stone, giving their frank opinion on Lady Gaga's "Perfect Illusion" and revealing that Rihanna originally rejected their demo for "Don't Let Me Down."

The duo also discuss the new music they have in the works. They’ve worked on "one of the dopest songs we've ever written" with Coldplay’s Chris Martin, according to Pall, while Bono “rolled up to our studio, all by himself," Taggart adds, "and played us some new U2 music.”

Although Rihanna rejected their demo for "Don't Let Me Down," it was OK, explained Pall, "because young unknown artists have this hunger – they're willing to work really hard." (Daya ultimately contributed vocals to the track).

It's Pall’s comment about Gaga’s new track "Perfect Illusion” which has some Little Monsters upset. The track “sucks,” he’s quoted as saying, before Taggart jumps in to say "She's a great artist – like, Jeff Koons made a sculpture of her.."

This song is actually very trance influenced with all the buildups and some of the synths show some similarity to those in the likes of Tomcraft's Loneliness.

It is sad that it has underperformed.
