Calling us mentally enfeebled to try and make yourself sound smart and entitled?? Hmm ok.

You share the same opinions of a racist and sexist scum bag who's principles are based on both racism and sexism???

He has made his Trump support clear a few times in the US Election thread in the news and politics forum.

Oh well 83% Trump for Common Sense and 96% for Ethan is quite surprising considering CS is more of a vocal supporter.

My own opinion, I do think the economic stuff with Trump does make sense (there needs to be regeneration of the places he mentions like all the former industrual areas).

The whole thing with the Mexico wall and the not letting Muslims into the country is divisive and negative though and he should have steered well clear of this.

His opposition to gay marriage is backward looking and his reluctance to oppose gun control laws, which are clearly needed is disappointing. And of course the language in the 2005 tapes was disgusting, although it is similar language as used in the equally sexist and misogynist and loathsome Broccoli song so Trump is not wholly responsible for sexism in America but he is the one running for president so he has more power.

A Trump presidency is dangerous I believe because of the divisiveness it would create amongst the nation. Hillary has more experience, and while I don't like her much as she is a part of the 'establishment', if I was an American I would vote for her for increased stability through experience and also hopefully an improvement in gun control laws.

I would have been a Bernie Sanders supporter originally, as he was most left wing and NOT part of the establishment.

Only regressive left-wingers want to misuse terms like ‘racist’, ‘sexist’, etc., to shut down and silence people - be they white or not - because they lack the mental facilities to present a coherent counter-argument.

Omg people don't use these terms to shut down and silence people (as tempting as that may be with people like you), they use them because they're TRUE. Trump is racist and sexist (add 'c***' to that list) and if you agree with his ideas then you are too.

anyone who supports a candidate who is openly homophobic, racist and sexist in my eyes is supporting those morals (or lack of)

This is pretty much what I meant! Haha

Ah yes. When cornered and being called out on your support for a racist, homophobic, sexist white supremacist; break out the thesaurus!

Is it just me or are the lyrics to Broccoli just as demeaning and offensively sexist as the Trump tapes.

It just seems that whether in a far reaching popular music song or by a presidential candidate in America it is OK to use such disgusting sexist language.

It is important to know that not only Trump supporters but everyone who bought the Broccoli track condones sexism in a way.

I don't support Hillary... She routinely racially abuses staff in her employ and labelled young black men as 'super predators'; was publicly against gay marriage until 8 years ago and privately still is; is funded by the repressive governments of Saudi Arabia and Qatar; was a member of the Arkansas Dixie Mafia & KKK in the 80s... Pray tell how EXACTLY you presume to occupy the high ground?

To be fair, parts of his economic policy are pretty much the only thing I can sort of agree with him on. He wants to bring those earning <$29,000 out of tax completely (that is £23.5K in the UK)! Plus the whole borrowing now and investing whilst borrowing remains cheap in order to grow the economy is very McDonnell/Corbynomics.

Ethan, if you were in America would you vote for the candidate who is so divisive that it would make it likely there were riots in the country if he won?

In fairness, both of them are divisive. There'll probably be some level of unrest regardless of who wins.
and they're the two most disliked presidential candidates in recent history so either way a large group of people will be angry at the result.

Everyone said there would be unrest by Republican racist elements when Obama won in 2008. Fortunately there wasn't.

Unrest would be much less under Hillary and also she has the experience to deal with it unlike Trump who would make it worse by a misjudged comment.

Thank you. The amount of Trump supporters who will say they're not X but they support Trump because they agree with his economic policies... If you desire a bigot being elected, even if their bigotry is not the reason you want that, what exactly are you saying? "I'm OK with every minority under the sun suffering because he says his economic policies will help poor white people"? If that's your line of thought then you're not much better than Trump if you ask me.

There's no excuses with supporting him. Either you want minorities to suffer or you're willing to let them suffer for a chance at personal gain. Both are gross.

Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz were also two of the most divisive party candidates (one being a socialist -which lots of Americans don't like) and the other being an even more right wing candidate than Trump.

And what Lotti was saying earlier - I think Democrats (apart from Sanders) are similar to UK Remain supporting Conservatives whereas Republicans are like UKIP. Both right wing but by different degrees.

True.

Only regressive left-wingers want to misuse terms like ‘racist’, ‘sexist’, etc., to shut down and silence people - be they white or not - because they lack the mental facilities to present a coherent counter-argument. When the mentally enfeebled reduce these terms to childish playground insults and throw them around in hysterical hyperbole, as per this thread, they completely invalidate the phrases, which is extremely dangerous and amoral. Frankly it’s laughable, but I fear it’s part of a darker subtext given the persistence of the overt harassment from certain individuals on this board.

The term 'racist' literally means nothing if it doesn't apply to a man who has said a judge's Latino heritage makes him incapable of judging him, or a man who would ban 1.4 billion people from entering the USA on the basis of their being Islamic. The word 'sexist' literally means nothing if it doesn't apply to a man who boasts about being able to sexually assault women at will because he is a powerful and wealthy man. For someone so fond of big words, you seem to struggle with the meanings of small ones. Let alone bigger ones, such as invalidation.

For a correct example of how to use the word 'invalidation', you prove that you are a racist and a sexist through your casual invalidation of the testimony of millions of people of colour and women who are terrified of Trump's election, because they take the man at his word. So you can take your "darker subtext" polysyllabic ramblings and shove them up your white supremacist arse, you absolute fucking jebend.

To be far I don't think.he is racist against all minority groups but definitely Mexicans and Muslims he is. I know in the past there was a case of him discriminating against African Americans in a housing scheme in the 70s which he didn't apologise for as far as I am aware so this is obviously is wrong.

If you can find any evidence that he doesn't respect straight white men above all other groups then I will agree with you. As it is he's a symbol of every type of prejudice you can name.
