January 12, 20178 yr 5) Madonna - I would say Living For Love, but Ghost Town probably fits that better KYLIE please! :cheer:
February 13, 20178 yr Katy Perry may also return and like many other female comebacks not do as well as expected. You're right I guess
February 13, 20178 yr Author So from what I can gather from this thread, The Chainsmokers have officially ruined music. Great. Haha you keep repeating that on several threads...almost as much as I talk about mid 00s funky house. But it is true yes we need a stop to this slow form of dance music. I blame dubstep, although dubstep was great, it definitely opened the door to inferior (imo) forms of slow dance music with drops.
February 13, 20178 yr We didn't  I don't think Dua Lipa will be a 'thing' in 2017. lol 3 songs in the Top 20 at the same time beg to differ. :P
February 13, 20178 yr Great to see Rag N Bone man get over 70k so far. Will be interesting to see if he can reach 100k this week!
February 13, 20178 yr More predictions~ - Ciao Adios will still be in the top 40 in July, and Anne-Marie will be massive. - Unstable by Zak Abel will be a long running top 5 hit. - iSpy by Kyle will do a Don't Mind.

February 13, 20178 yr Why do you think Zak Abel will chart? I personally can't see it myself... The track's like a more R&B/dancehall orientated version of Mercy/Stitches/Treat You Better by Shawn Mendes and the minimalist, acoustic feel of it is popular right now. Definitely a track I can see hitting the top 5 in the spring, just when the weather starts to warm up!
February 13, 20178 yr The track's like a more R&B/dancehall orientated version of Mercy/Stitches/Treat You Better by Shawn Mendes and the minimalist, acoustic feel of it is popular right now. Definitely a track I can see hitting the top 5 in the spring, just when the weather starts to warm up! Makes sense but I just can't see him getting the backing. Been on the 1Xtra playlist for months though so I could be wrong. Think this is more of a 'safe bet' prediction of a hit because I don't think its quite catchy enough to fully crossover.
February 14, 20178 yr Not sure I see Ciao Adios as going to be either a high peaker or long laster. It has a sound a lot like Blow Your Mind (Mwah) which also stalled. Will depend how much goodwill there is towards Anne-Marie after Rockabye. I reckon if she releases another feature her material in general might do better as people will either feel warmer to her or prefer CA
February 19, 20178 yr Prediction: I think we'll see more RnB Man this year since his major label debut album was selling well at this point. SOY and ÷ would take the #1 spot on the 2017 End Of Year singles and albums chart respectively.
December 15, 20177 yr Only just getting round to this for this year... always interesting to look back and see how right/wrong we got it! I'm thinking... First off, this year will be ED SHEERAN YEAR - Ed will headline Glastonbury - TRUE - Ed will have the number 1 single for at least 10 weeks (although not necessarily consecutive) - TRUE (14) - Ed will have the number 1 album for at least 16 weeks (again, not necessarily consecutive) - TRUE (it was 17, so far...) - Ed will break some sort of streaming record with his album - TRUE Other predictions: - Matt Terry's debut single will flop massively - TRUE - Liam Payne will have a hit - TRUE - Harry Styles will have a hit - TRUE - Nicki Minaj will get a #1 - FALSE - George Ezra will come back to great success - FALSE (he's had one single that didn't do amazingly, and no album) - Sam Smith WON'T come back as many have expected him to - he'll wait til 2018 - FALSE (he is very much back) - Katy Perry will return with a huge song, kicking off another huge era - FALSE (Witness has been a flop era although CTTR did well) - Calvin Harris will release a #1 album with huge stars featuring - FALSE (no #1 but big stars on the album) - Taylor Swift will release a #1 album - TRUE - Beyonce will clean up at the Grammys - FALSE (two wins isn't really cleaning up) - Little Mix will win a BRIT award - TRUE (YAAAAAY) - Fifth Harmony's first single without Camila will do very well - FALSE - Anne-Marie will get a top 5 single - FALSE (Ciao Adios peaked at #9 though) - Zara Larsson's album won't be released until the second half of the year - FALSE (it was April) - Honey G will be dropped by Syco by April - TRUE (tabloids reported her being dropped on 1st April!) - Lorde will have a huge year - FALSE (she's had modest success with this era but I wouldn't call it huge) Love looking back at this each year! Of 20 predictions there, 10 came true It definitely has been Ed Sheeran year, sadly... I'll make a 2018 thread at some point unless someone already has!
December 16, 20177 yr It's quite funny reading some peoples predictions from the beginning of the year and comparing how wrong/right they were
December 16, 20177 yr We didn't  I don't think Dua Lipa will be a 'thing' in 2017. Not to be rude on this, but this year Dua was on the spotlight and getting her first #1 hit in UK courtesy of New Rules.
December 16, 20177 yr Well I was right. HA  I'm guessing Eminem & Ed Sheeran have got the #1 sewn up for the next 10 weeks and going into 2018 :D
