I just listened to 'You Make Me Whole', and I'm shocked to find it's a cover of this 2016 song by Anna Naklab (who you might remember from the 2014 hit 'Wicked Games' by Parra For Cuva):

 

 

I'm pretty fond of the original but like, it charted nowhere, I can't believe someone came across it and thought to cover it!

 

I love that song, I hate covers though. They need to do original songs....

 

That being said, Chain Reaction and Tragedy slay!

My copy came in the post today *.* listening now and frankly, it's their best album to date.

Lucky! Strange to think that they farted out that weak Xmas album five years ago and are now looking set to go top three with what sounds like the best pure pop album in many years.

I think Lee gets more solo lines on this album than he ever has in the past 20 years.

 

Parts of Firefly are very Into The Blue by Minoguey *.*

Slayed by every song on the album - they have come back with such a killer pop album.

Currently on 'No More Tears On The Dancefloor'... H's opening verse, has he got worse vocally, or is it me?

 

But so far, I'm liking this album!

He sounds like Cliff Richard.. wtf. Thank god he's barely on the album.

This album is quite Kylie meets Infernal!

 

'Glitter & Gold' especially is a lot like Infernal.

Early stand outs - Story Of A Heart, Neon Blue, I Will Love Again, Happy :wub:

My standouts are: 'Glitter & Gold', 'Neon Blue' and 'Story Of A Heart' (especially the 7th Heaven Remix!)

 

But overall, this album is pretty damn good!

Wow was not expecting such a strong pure pop camp bop fest but certainly delivered love it

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT SCARED OF THE DARK IN ALL IT'S POP PERFECTION ISN'T EVEN THE BEST TRACK ON THE ALBUM.

10 | Scared of the Dark (easily their best single yet, just perfection)

9.5 | You Make Me Whole (So very 2013-ish and works well)

09 | Story of a Heart (FAB, but i feel that the ending is a bit sudden, sounds like it is ready to go into another chorus)

10 | Happy (I love the way that it gets more batshit crazy as it goes on)

7.5 | No More Tears on the Dancefloor (The only one I consider a bit "eh" but still a solid pop song)

217 | Firefly (THIS IS THEIR BEST SONG EVER MOVE OVER PARADISE LOST)

8.5 | Space Between Us (Not normally here for the 2 guys leading songs but this is really good, nice to actually hear them having actual verses to sing)

8.5 | Glitter & Gold (Growing on me was one of the weaker ones initially)

09 | Neon Blue (just full of joy and amazingness)

10 | I Will Love Again (I truely believe Claire's voice is so magical that it could restore sight to the blind)

Such a great album! :wub: 'Scared of the Dark' remains my favourite but it leads a very high standard of an album. 'Story of a Heart' is shining through as a key favourite; I think it would make a very strong follow-up single and being one of the first tracks as well as being made available pre-album seems a big sign that it will be. I was going to comment on how ABBA-esque (more so than their other songs) it was until I realised it actually is an ABBA cover!

No More Tears on the Dancefloor is really solid. I'd pick that as a next single.

 

In general this album is pure Eurovision...we must send them eventally. What a breath of fresh air for pop in 2017!

Okay, Glitter & Gold is SUCH an earworm, it keeps growing on me :wub: really just No More Tears on the Dancefloor that I am slightly less than stanning right now.
