I feel like "I haven't shaved my head yet" was said as a kind of defence mechanism to distract people from her being uncomfortable about talking of her own mental health, opposed to being a dig at Britney or her not understanding the severity of mental health. As pointed out, people are always sharing posts of "if Britney can make it through 2007, you can make it" and it's only intended as a throwaway comment rather than anything deeper than that. What's more is that people accept it as such, but as soon as a famous person says it, they're the biggest bitch in the world! It would be a shame if she was forced to apologise just because some do-gooders on Twitter made a mountain out of a molehill.

But, joking about the suffering symptoms of mental disorders is not okay. It's not just Katy's fault, it's societies as well... but it was still rude and the bottom line is she offended a lot of people. Britney fans are not the only ones leading the parade either, it's mental group counselors, huffington post, support forums for people with these disorders. The performance SO sold it, I wish she'd got out of the fence a little bit quicker but the rest of it was really cool and showed Katy's progression as an artist with this era so well. One of her best vocals in ages as well, thankfully, as that's always a worry.
