I think we just have to get use to the fact that we are in an era now when achieving a no1 single is a great achievement and songs spend a lot of time at the top.

I guess so :( There's definitely got to be a point in the near future where my interest in the charts will start to dwindle if things carry on like it.

I doubt the record company "pushed" Shape of You on Ed. He's always seemed like the kind of artist who has creative control over his work, and if he didn't want to release Shape of You, I doubt he would've done so. Castle on the Hill would've been huge regardless, if not bigger than it already is without another song sharing the limelight.

17. Tinie Tempah - Text from Your Ex (feat. Tinashe)

56. 2NE1 - Goodbye

64. Arcade Fire - I Give You Power (feat. Mavis Staples)

71. John Legend - Start a Fire

75. John Mayer - Moving On and Getting Over

77. Tinie Tempah - Chasing Flies (feat. Nea)

78. Bastille - Blame

491. Mallory Knox - Citalopram (Better Off Without You)

758. JP Cooper - In The Silence (Demo)

Mallory Knox are great, they should have had two top 40 hits in an ideal world with Lighthouse and Ghost In The Mirror, LOVED those two and those two songs got a lot of Radio 1 love too. Haven't heard their new one though.

My interest in the charts lies with genres, and has dwindled as tropical house and future bass have remained dominant for so long, hopefully that will change soon.

Castle On The Hill up from 0.7208 to 0.7950 due to the Graham Norton Show.
Rockabye out of the top 10 now. Looks like it could spend 1 or two more weeks top 10. Nice to see the top 10 continuing to usher in the fresher tracks tho. Two Dua Lipa appearances in there :o

Edited by Rob S~

'Rockabye' up to #7 now. Have they had promo?

Dua Lipa 'Be The One' falling at a comical rate down to #10.

Maybe lots of people saw robs posr

2 places?! Disaster!!

 Was just thinking the same, was expecting to see it had fallen to #54 after reading that post.

#10 for a single that was originally released in January 2016 and has made the Top 150 a few times during the past year is not bad!

Why does this phrase get overused so pointlessly?

 44 Labrinth - Jealous

We need the collab with Noah to take off rather than this getting its yearly boost!

Someone sang it on that Gary Barlow "talent" show on BBC1, my housemate had it on and I did caught some generic bland male singing this
