I can see this matching/surpassing that when the video is out if streaming and airplay continue to build.

Even if it doesn't, The Cure (and Million Reasons for that matter) have had much more of a cultural impact than Perfect Illusion has. Don't see PI becoming a GaGa classic in peoples minds over time unlike the two I have mentioned.

I think you are overestimating the cultural impact of a song that peaked at 19 (and 39 as is the case with Million Reasons).

Don't see any of them being considered as classics.

Million Reasons will be a Gaga classic for sure. Million Reasons (#39) has outsold Perfect Illusion (#12)

I wouldn't say so. Gaga has so many more songs that would be more recognisable to the general public than Million Reasons. If 'Name a Lady Gaga top 40 single' was a question on Pointless, Million Reasons would score very few points (as would Perfect Illusion).

I like how harry styles has released a track that sounds like a Niall horan track just before Niall releases his new single this Friday

Most of my friends know it and like it, whereas only a few friends (all pop stans) knew and liked Perfect Illusion - The Cure is quite a large hit now. These days songs don't need a high peak for them to be a hit, take Love My Life by Robbie Williams and You Don't Know Love by Olly Murs as other recent examples! :D

Million Reasons and The Cure won't be Gaga classics in the same way Just Dance, Poker Face and Bad Romance are, but Million Reasons in particular was probably a more notable hit than its peak suggests tbh, and I suspect The Cure will be the same by the time it leaves the chart!
It's mainly from R2 A listing I think. Which can give songs major gains.
 10. Lady Gaga - The Cure

I think R2 playlisting this is an indicator that R1 won't?

Hmm, they've both got Harry and Paramore on their playlists so I'm not giving up hope just yet

The Cure is #12 on my feed?

Also, the lyric video might actually be helping too! It's been making the rounds on social media (mainly for the wrong reasons - if you watch the video, you'll understand why ) so I think that may be helping. Are music channels showing it? I know they like to show lyric videos every now and again?
The Cure I believe is bigger than Perfect Illusion was because it is tropical pop and sounds more relevant to current trends.
