Hopefully this doing so well means they try and push some other Spanish language jams like 'Chantaje' by Shakira and 'Me Rehúso' by Danny Ocean.

Me Rehúso is SCREAMING for a Drake/Wizkid remix. It's a total banger - been top 10 in my personal chart

Kasabian are certain to hold their number 1 position.

Wonderful to see another steady performance by Steps sitting at number 7 and also Take That climbing again this week at 9.

Niall flopping hard, can't even trouble the top 10!!

Harry holding on well though with SOTT

He's doing better than ZAYN did... seriously though instant hits aren't the thing anymore and it's clear from every solo effort by 1D that the previous fanbase hasn't gone with them fully.

Niall hasn't had a proper big hit yet, but Zayn has 2!

This Town was a decent sized hit in all fairness :magic: not huge like PILLOWTALK but let's not discredit it!

Well the British public are putting it at #1 :basil:

Just the sheeple who buy anything Beiber because he's like 'cool now' and vote whichever way the papers tell them!

Also poor Ed:( I was sure he woukda seen off thos Kasabian threat to be no.1 till August.

It depends what you define as a hit to be honest as arguably Niall has had 1 and you're dismissing his second single after just a week!! also ZAYN has had longer time to his 2 hits. In fact he's released a few singles with only 2 reaching the top 10 - his debut and one backed by a movie.

The rule of boy and girlbands is the first to go solo and release is the biggest ans takes the most fans. The rest have to divide the dininishing returns fanbase.
KYLE at #41 again  My 'ugh what a piece of tripe' side and my 'we REALLY need some new songs in the Top 40' side are really confilcting here.

It's quite a fun little song though and I imagine quite popular with certain groups of teenagers. Personally, I would have preferred 'Broccoli' to chart but that was big anyway.

Also according to occ Mel B released first and its pretty much a tie between geri and Mel c for the biggest

Keep hearing Despacito (and Enrique's current Spanish single) everywhere in Hamburg! Glad the UK have picked it up too, albeit because of Bieber but barely a quarter of the song includes him!
What did Kasabian's last album do in the first week?

It's who goes solo first as in leaves the band.

Mel C came close but never got the same amount of no.1s.

So much for I'm The One being number 1 until September like I thought! :o Unlucky timing I guess, I'm very glad though as Despacito is miles better (the Bieber-less version is wayyyy better, but if it's him that can make foreign language songs get more notice here, then that's all good).
