I think the resigning to Universal is true which is great news. She also said she’s working on more disco music so definitely will try and capitalise on MOTD’s revival.

I'm happy to hear that, I always thought it was a strange decision to go from the disco influence of 'Hypnotize Ed' to the more alternative sound of the HANA album (although having said that, I did end up quite enjoying HANA, so I'm happy either way really... I'm just glad we're gonna be getting more music from her).

'Hypnotize Ed' was a single she featured on for somebody else's project, and I think the album would have been near enough completed by the time it came about (much as I was really hoping it would serve as a template for the next album)
She hates it, which is pretty reprehensible :(

With good reason, it has particularly cringeworthy lyrics if I remember correctly.

I don't think the lyrics are that bad, it's really only the "I'll still change my underwear" line that's a bit cringe

Read My Lips has been on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart for four weeks now, but what does it mean exactly? Is RML only charted there because of the streams for MOTD and do people actually stream/buy the whole album?

I don't understand something about the Hot 100 either: MOTD is no 57 in the Hot 100 this week, but the song is better placed in all genre charts: streaming no 38, digital no 17 and pop airplay no 30. So if MOTD is doing well on streaming and radio, why is it on the Hot 100 just at no 57?

Oh come onnnn, it contains such gold one-liners like...

"I used to change my style like I changed my mind, I tried to change a tyre but I'm not that way inclined"

and

"Tried to change my figure, my diet too - I'll still change my underwear if that's OK with you"

Just listening now and yep that whole second verse is awful - which I could forgive in an iconic Des'Ree kinda way but it's just all kind of naff? The production isn't great and the delivery sounds pretty half arsed too. Definitely her worst single for me.

(although saying that I'm flicking through the album and her second one really was pretty dire, a real come down after her debut)

If Sophie has signed with Universal again hopefully that means all her other singles will get digital EP’s. Still hoping we get all those great b-sides.

In the style of Posh in Spiceworld the movie "Exactly!"

Pop airplay is only a subset of overall airplay so it's presumably nowhere near #30 on radio overall. Also there are quite a few songs that have huge streams but barely any radio whereas most songs with high radio also have at least decent streams.

Track 1 on hot hits Uk now although a bit late.
1 week until the MOTD physicals are released. Why were they waiting that long to release the physicals?

Probably took this long to manufacture.

New PNAU Remix out today

Love this. It retains so much of the original track, but makes it a bit fresh and different from the one I've heard at least a million times.
