That is a big line up. Had expected Olly Murs to be part of this especially as he is on Simon's Label.

I really hope they end up releasing it on Friday. It'd be a shame for it to have a paltry chart run as a result of a crap release scheduling, when it could have easily been top 10 otherwise.
Awesome to see Paloma Faith and Jessie J in there

From my understanidng, not all the names may appear. Apparantley Leona only recorded a few lines, but it's not 100% that she'll make the final cut (guessing because of how many people are on it).

On another note, most of those supporting the single have been visiting the site and residents. I'm sure they've all made their own donations privately to the cause and see no issue with the single if it can help raise even more money and awareness for the victims.

Hopefully it's release Friday to try to maximise its chance of #1 in the charts.

It'll have a paltry chart run whichever way

Still, something like 3-37-OUT is better than 29-21-OUT.

Is it though? The Captain whats his name thing fell what 4-88, just looks ridiculous. It's all a good example of why streaming is an important addition to the chart.

The chart peak isn't important for a charity song.

Yeah. A #3 peak or therabouts would bring valuable media attention to the song, and make the whole campaign worthwhile. Judging by Cowell's power in the music industry, it's very surprising he isn't capitalising on his ability to make the song be a top 5 hit.

(besides, a Friday release would surely be the logical choice, there's just no benefit of releasing on a Wednesday whatsoever)

He's been with RCA for his last two albums, actually...

Charity singles traditionally don't have much staying power though, do they?

Lol at people on here saying "wait until Friday", "whats the point in releasing so soon" etc. etc.

I thought the whole point is that these people are desperate for resources NOW and we need to gain money for them and their lost belongings as soon as possible. Why wait another 3 days to raise the money if the single is sat there waiting to go??

Sometimes things are more important than getting a whole chart week worth of sales BuzzJack

Yeah that's a kind gesture but Simon keeps banging about a music video on prime time so I'm assuming that footage will be used for it

Also I don't think it's ready to go yet I don't think it's even finished but yes the money does need to be made as soon as possible but I don't think it being released on Wednesday will make a massive windfall difference from Friday say example it sells 10k-30k copies at 99p a copy in those 2 days that's roughly £10k-30k which ordinarily would be a great amount but considering how much was lost wouldn't be much to the victims

Whereas if it was release on Friday it has more potential of debuting higher which would generate more publicity which would likely causes more people to buy it or donate to the cause so more money would likely be raised overall

I remember when the allstar Artists Against Aids Worldwide track "What's Going On" 'only' got to #6 - I was shocked as at this point all of these kind of songs at least challenged for number 1.

Then there was the Stand Up To Cancer allstar track which I don't think even went top 20.

It's hard to say isn't it, but Helping Haiti stormed to number 1...

Is there a CD single?
