Oh that reminds me, have you heard Neil Cicierega's “T.I.M.E.” ? - That's a really interesting mash-up!

K3 won in the song contest on the forum, where people don't have any interest in YVA music.

92. South Danaelanda - Saving Light - Gareth Emery & Standerwick featuring Haliene

A first win for South Danaelanda as Gareth Emery finished 25 points ahead of I Know A Place by Muna (Yehesi). Jimmy Dean by Troll was 3rd for Hendinia.

This is an outstanding winner. I love the big trance sound, the vocals and the meaning behind the song. This goes into 2nd place on my list. I've just listened to 'RAMelia' again to make sure that it should stay in 1st place and it just edges out 'Saving Light'. There are many similarities in this video and the one for my first entry 'Routine' by Steven Wilson, the pizza, the dead son's scrawlings stuck to the fridge and the girl screaming at the edge of the cliff. Just a co-incidence?

93. Ultraviolenceland - In The Morning - Jaded

Ultraviolenceland won their 2nd contest out of three with Jaded finishing a comfortable 20 points ahead of Miracle Part A by Offer Nissim featuring Maya Simintov (Espen). Miss Li's Aqualung was 3rd for Oslol.

So this is the last winning song I do not know although as I entered the next contest,I remember playing it once out of curiosity. It's quite good, better than Ultra's other winner. I like the brass section. Jaded are a trio from England,Italy and Iran.

Saving Light is definitely the standout winner out of 2017 for me (at least so far), that drop always gives me chills and such a heartbreaking video to match  I do see the RAMelia comparisons, oddly though I just never got into that oops.

glad you've taken to my winning entry so much Rollo! was hoping it'd be your thing.

you may want to check out my other trance entries prior to 'Saving Light': Aly & Fila '

' and Juventa '

I liked both of those. They would have got points from me.

I personally much preferred Monopoly of the 2 Ultra winners, might even be my fave winner of the year so far although a song yet to come is definitely up there too.

Saving Light is great as well, one I need to return to more really!

94. Trifoski - Hurricane - Drones Club

A third win for Trifoski, making them the tenth country to record three wins. Drones Club finished 12 points ahead of Ultralife by Oh Wonder (D'yermak'er). Waqqaberry by BO was 3rd for Jadakissnia. This was the first contest I entered and my 18 points went to Seyetana's dramatic rock song 'Beyond The Matrix' by Epica.

I didn't give any points to Hurricane but it sounds better than I remember it. It's not too bad. Drones Club are a London collective with a flexible amount of members.

95. Suedeonia - Don't Take The Money - Bleachers

A first win for Suedeonia as Bleachers finished just eight points ahead of Stockholm Noir representing FARC with Hopeless Dreams. Dub-I-Dub by Me & My was 3rd for Aeroche. My 18 points went to Lotunia's dreamy debut entry 'Arvedavgi' by Agy.

'Don't Take The Money' got my maximum 12 points in the semi-final and it was 3rd in my voting in the final. It still sounds great. Bleachers' main man Jack Antonoff is also in the band 'Fun' who got to no.1 in 2012 with 'We Are Young'. 'Don't Take The Money' was co-written with Lorde and co-produced with Vince Clarke from Erasure.

what a f***ing tune
[/late] but yasss at the mention for 'Waqqaberry' coming 3rd *.* my sole top 10 hit of the year so far! Another medal position behind a great winner so yet again wasn't complaining to lose out to Drones Club. I actually came across that before the contest through the New Music Friday Spotify playlist but never would've thought to send it to BJSC!

96. Deahun - Haide - Helena Paparizou

A third win for Daehun,Helena Paparizou finished 32 points ahead of Weekends by Lines (Cor Lupus). Jag Trodde Anglarna Fanns by Kamferdrops was 3rd for Altyr Muunilinst. My 18 points went to the sublime 'Looking For The Rain' by UNKLE,a group I was already familiar with.

I did give 'Haide' a solitary point so I liked something about it but playing it now,I'm not that impressed. It's not one of this year's strongest winners. The song reached no.1 in Greece.

97. Quintessa - Gypsy - Norda & Mike de Ville featuring Joanna Jones

A convincing win for Norda,Mike and Joanna as they finished 56 points ahead of Steven Wilson and Ninet Tayab representing Terra Avium with Pariah which was the song to get my 18 points. Warriors by Tigertown was 3rd for Ramrynia.

Gypsy received 5 points from me. It's a catchy, infectious piece of electroswing.
