I think Gypsy is now my fave winner this year, has certainly resonated with me the longest since its victory.

 

Haide is amazing too, probably the best pop song I've heard this year.

A landslide for Medhelnia as Clare Maguire finished 123 points ahead of Fashion Killa by Mason featuring Stefflon Don (Pupok). Elohim's Eclipse was 3rd for Hendinia. My 18 points went to Deandria's offering 'Blouson Noir' by Aaron.

 

I've just listened to the original version of 'Elizabeth Taylor' as I had not heard it before. I like it,especially the gorgeous strings which makes this remix even worse than I thought it was before. She seems to have ruined a good song. I didn't give this any points last month and I can't give it a high score now.

99. Unovia - Vulcano - Francesca Michielin

 

 

Just four days ago Unovia became the latest country to win the contest as Francesca Michielin finished 27 points ahead of Hannah Jane Lewis' Raincheck (Ultraviolenceland). Rockin' For Myself by Motiv8 featuring Angie Brown was 3rd for Aeroche. My 18 points went to Fljotavik's entry 'Runnin' Outta Luck' by Alex Cameron which could only finish in 37th place.

 

I didn't vote for Vulcano but it's growing on me now. It's a decent song. Francesca won the Italian X Factor in 2011 and finished 16th for Italy at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.

I've mentioned it before but I shall say it again now we're at the end - this is one of my favourite threads in ages, a really great trip through all the previous winners that brought back lots of memories and interesting views... plus it sort of acted as the perfect way to get to the celebrations of BJSC100. Thank you very much for this thread Rollo! I absolutely love taking part in BJSC but of course Jadakissnia have only been around since the 70s contests, so it's always fantastic to find out more about the many editions that happened prior to me joining. I learned plenty across these 100 days from you and other contributors. It's a shame I had really poor Internet when you actually got to most of the contests I was in, but I have still managed to at least read this thread every day and it's been a blast! ^_^

I’ve decided to do something similar to this, but not going right back to the beginning, but rather re-listening to all of the medalist positions I’ve ever awarded since starting in BJSC. I realise there’s a hefty gap between my ban and when I returned, but so far it seems that there are some gems I’ve rediscovered as well as some rather obscure finds that I would struggle to vote highly or now. I’ve noticed that Kathaldazia, Rolloland, Aeroche and Thelonia appear in my medalist positions a lot, and there’s a couple of former 18’s from FSR Rontvia I’m rediscovering too and loving! :D

 

Do you have a final entry contained somewhere in this Zanmatonese playlist…

 

 

I definitely recommend this idea to any participants… making a playlist of all your medalist songs and replaying them again, it’s like a first time discovery for many! :heart:

I'm actually wondering how Rollo would rank the winners after this with a 2017 scale?

 

I think out of mine, Joy would be pretty high (kinda similar to TNAF in rank maybe?) and La Di Da would be quite low
