Scintillating football from Barcelona & Bayern Munich tonight. It's looking very ominous for the other teams remaining in the competition! It will be interesting from an almost neutral point of view to see how the quarter final draw plays out on Friday.

Chelsea were V unlucky.

Shocking goals to concede though and I'm guessing Conte will be gone by the end of the season.

Yep surprised he wasn't hoofed after the Watford game actually

All Chelsea managers only get 2 years max regardless of performance!

A fact Lionel Messi's goal 2:08 into Barcelona vs. Chelsea game is the quickest goal he has ever scored in his career for club or country...

Chelsea just got outclassed in the end.

Well tbf, we don't really have a choice! Who else is even out there. And we can't turn into a Chelsea constantly reshuffling the pack. We are certainly improving under him, it's just that City's mega-season has put everything into context. Like Houdini said, we had 0% chance of winning the CL anyway, not saying we should throw it of course but at least we avoided getting torn to shreds by one of the big hitters in the next round

And the players have to shoulder some of the blame too, Sanchez & particularly Pogba have been utterly useless for weeks...

I love how you argue 'we would never have won it anyway so I'm glad we are out'

Quarter-Final Draw:

Barcelona v Roma

Sevilla v Bayern Munich

Juventus v Real Madrid

Liverpool v Manchester City

That's quite a decent draw. Bayern vs Liverpool, Barcelona vs Man City would have been the perfect draw for what's left though.

An English team is guaranteed to be eliminated in the next round which should be fun to see :D

I didn't say I'm glad we are out but we can put all our focus on the fa cup now rather than try and balance multiple tournaments and inevitably end up winning none of them.

Our squad is still light years away from competing for the CL.

But an English team is also guaranteed to be in the semis and anything can happen once you're almost there..

Disappointed to be playing City as I would have preferred to play a non-domestic team. 2nd leg at the Etihad.. out of all the teams left I would possibly but that as the least intimidating and hostile atmosphere so that's something worth considering too. Could go either way, doesn't help that both the local derbies are sandwiched in before/during the games.

That's true but a Liverpool vs Man City final would have been my worst scenario so I'm glad that has no chance of happening now. It will be a very entertaining tie I think that could go either way but I think Man City are the favourites for this as they will be more likely to outscore Liverpool over the two legs. I don't think Liverpool will lose at Anfield because Man City have such a poor record there and Liverpool's fans will create the atmosphere that will motivate the players extra.

We would have got embarrassed by Bayern Munich if we made it through to the quarter finals so maybe our exit earlier this week was not as bad as it seemed at first. Barcelona should get past Roma without too much difficulty and I think Real Madrid will get past Juventus.

Man City will be the favourites no doubt and huge pressure on them, more so than Liverpool. Man City's form has kinda tailed off these past 4-6 weeks ever since we beat them. Klopp has a good record against Pep so we'll see. I think everyone is expecting 3-3 games, but I think they will be much more cagey than that.

Whoever goes for the away goals will win and I think city will do that as even tho we can beat them they can still score enough to put us out overall. Chuffed to be still competing at this stage if he competition tho!

It was a very good goal! BT Sport have called it his best ever goal but I think the free kick he scored against Portsmouth and the long range strike against Porto were better. Real Madrid are pretty much through to the semi final now after that 3-0 away win against Juventus. Real Madrid should never have been underestimated in my opinion, they're always there or thereabouts in the Champions League.

Dunno - that goal he scored tonight is some goal, it was pure technique and such a clean strike. Probably more impressive goals, but that was a worldie.

The thing is with Real Madrid is on the balance of play they are not always the better team, but they have so many match winners. It's only over the past 5 years where they have begun to be consistent in the Champions League again. They virtually have a foot in the semi-finals so they have a great chance of winning again of course. I still think Man City/Liverpool could really give them a game though as they're weak when they're pressed hard.

Would people say this is the biggest all-English tie since the 2009 Champions League Semi-Final?
