YESSSS  Instruction sounds fab but it'd sound even better if mum stopped bloody vacuuming - hope it climbs into the top 30 next week.

 relevant

Great to hear this in the top 40! Big hit incoming surely.

It sounds too big not to be. That said this is 2017 and we've had what, 1 big (top 10) dance hit that is above 120 BPM this year??? That was by Jax Jones though... Am I forgetting any others?

(Martin Jensen "Solo Dance" is closest I can think of at 115 BPM)

Biography

Hailee Steinfeld (born December 11, 1996) is an American actress, model and singer. She first became known for her portrayal of Mattie Ross in True Grit (2010), for which she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role, and the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Thereafter, she appeared as Petra Arkanian in Ender's Game (2013), Juliet Capulet in Romeo & Juliet (2013), Violet Mulligan in Begin Again (2013), Zooey Renner in 3 Days to Kill (2014), and Nadine Franklin in The Edge of Seventeen (2016), for which she received a Golden Globe Award nomination.

After singing "Flashlight" in Pitch Perfect 2 (2015), Steinfield released a cover version of the song and was later signed to Republic Records. She released her debut single, "Love Myself", which has been certified platinum in several countries, and later an extended play, Haiz. In 2016, she released "Starving", a collaboration with both Grey and Zedd, which peaked at number 12 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. In addition to her acting and singing careers, Steinfeld also has done modeling work; she was hired as the face of Miu Miu in 2011, shortly after True Grit was released. - Wikipedia

"Show You Love" peaking criminally low although top 100 is something in the current climate considering

Not too fussed on "Most Girls" at the moment, I'm surprised it has even gone top 40.

377k sales for D'You Know What I Mean? Wow, I knew the album sold loads, but didn't realise the single was just as big. That must be one of the biggest 1st week sales for a single in chart history?

And 41,000 for the number ten that week :o

Demi's vocal on Instruction is great imo, nice to see her with a bit of attitude :D

Hailee might see more boosts now that she's made it into the top 40, a NOW album/school disco ready song if ever I heard one.

On first listen I'd agree that Demi's vocals don't suit 'Instruction' that well but I hope it smashes anyway, still a bit of a banger.

Struggling to warm to 'Most Girls', great message but nowhere near as catchy as Hailee's other singles :(

It was a cover of a Swedish song "Nagot Som Kan Handa" by Mathias Holmgren I believe. He probably was on Swedish Idol or something

I didn't know this! Would explain why it's the Scandinavian touch to it :) Was probably the only decent single Gareth did in the first era of his career mind. His 2007 album 'Pictures of the Other Side' was quite good mind!

It's just a bit generic and blah, this Hailee song isn't it. But then it really is time we moved on to a new popular sound, this one has been rinsed beyond death - whatever that is...

This is a decent track, actually heard this for this first time way back when Now 96 was released (that makes this that edition's September Song) so bit bizarre to see it take off only now!
