July 28, 20178 yr Ok so I'm officially old! :lol: This is the first time I've listened to the chart show in about 10 years and I'm shocked! I only tuned in to see which Linkin Park songs charted and they're skipping past over half the songs, the DJ is terrible and slow while he thinks of things of things to say, and even the overly Welsh newsreader is annoying the sh#t out of me :angry: Listening to the chart every Sunday was one of the highlights of my week years ago but I gave up on it when they started mucking around with the format and all the downloads and streaming made it uninteresting. Be interesting to see if any listeners from the Sunday top 40 days agree or if I am indeed just getting old! :rofl: Bring back Mark Goodier :cheer: Not really my cup of tea either hence I just follow this thread while listening to other stuff normally :P It does seem to be more amateurish, but also: I do disctinctly remember a point probably 6 or 7 years ago when Radio 1 seemed to actively change its style and aim younger. Probably around the time they were told to after their demographics showed they weren't hitting what bosses wanted. Where it used to be aimed at older teens and early 20s I'd now say its aimed primarily at younger and older teens, and whoever else will listen out of habit.

July 28, 20178 yr Finally first time hearing 'Sun Comes Up' as they skipped it on the chart when I listened before. Wasn't worth the wait. Very average song. I miss when Rudimental were good. Didn't really need Sigala back in the top 10 either ~ this current crop of dance hits is just really yawn inducing oop
