The thing that really doesn't make sense about this whole Paloma thing, they literally stopped supporting her in 2012 when at that point she had just had her biggest hit by far and her album made a pretty impressive debut. Literally straight after that.

Yeah they stopped cold after one successful single in the middle of a double-platinum album campaign.

but sure paloma is cooler than Sam Smith, well, anyone is cooler than Sam Smith :D and I mean 5 out of his last 6 singles are ballads, so hardly a genre that interests kids, he's more boring than Michael Bolton :)

Anne Marie for me was a weird one for me, I wasn't sure if she was going to have success or if she was just going to bomb horrifically! She can still recover from this (Dua and Zara are perfect examples) but I can't help but think this single needed to be massive and it's freefalling at an incredible rate.
it's down to Hot Songs being defunct now. it'd be top 20 if it had Hot Songs support.
now with itunes it's the same as wtth spotify, they wat you to buy/listen to the big hits of the moment, not the new releases

I can't really see it doing that much, it's just not a strong enough song compared to Alarm and Ciao Adios.

What's so surprising about this?

Because I wasnt sure if it would be a hit in the UK. I’m more surprised at how fast it’s climbing without any Hot Songs exposure.
