The AV only applies to songs since 2000, it’s in the framework

Oh thank you!! I got confused. That makes sense ^_^

Voted. Literally had to scramble for a 10th song to vote for.
Nearly back to a place with wifi so my votes will be in in not too long x It feels so weird leaving listening this late for the first time in yearssss :drama:
Just popping in to say that Aeroche's entry went #18 on the chart in 1994... I thought y'all kept a closer tab on this :teresa: Obviously it's too late to change but shouldn't that have been an automatic veto?

if you only you paid this much attention to voting on time

red 5 also went to #11 in 1997 whilst we're at it but lucky for us we knew about both of them and overturned them both

just so everyone knows i submitted this entry knowing where it charted and knowing it was an an A/V, hoping that it could be overturned cos i felt it would be in the spirit of the contest and was a discovery (cos it was a COMPLETE discovery for me... you can't even buy it on itunes or amazon!), was completely upfront about its research as soon as the confs opened and left it up to my fellow mods to decide, knowing i might have to send a backup

hopefully people don't dock it because of that but you're free to if you want to, but i wasn't trying to 'dupe' anybody and the mods were definitely not slacking on research thinking we may have missed it

It was a discovery for me too and I'm old enough to remember listening to that chart in 1994 at the time! :D

I agree with overturning them tbh, when it's stuff like say those couple of months when Creep and Jolene were entered and the framework didn't technically have anything to catch them out on, that was a bit ridic (as much as I gave them both my 12s/18s oops) because everyone knows those, particularly Jolene, whereas if it's something that was top 20 for a week or two in the 90s and nobody remembers it it's not fair to drop that really because I doubt many will know it. The mod discretion is a good thing to add to it because the mods know what they're doing and it allows the right ones to get through and be discovered and the right ones that take the piss a bit to be binned.

Well I can totally remember Motiv8 and indeed had it on a Eurodance compilation at the time... this one in fact:

(but I still couldn't care less whether it's in the contest or not, it's hardly well remembered! - although maybe Lewww could use it for inspiration for BJSC100? Worlds Apart 'Could It Be I'm Falling In Love' must be crying out for a wider audience!!!)

ALSO... this was where I first heard Set You Free, ages before it hit the UK charts the following year.

What a track list *.*

I’ve actually considered sending Hold That Sucker Down many times before but despite its lower chart peak I’d say it’s a LOT more remembered than Rockin For Myself, so I’ve never bothered with it. Anyone who doesn’t know it and likes the Motiv8 song should check it out though, one of the highlights of 90s diva piano house.

sending that whole compilation next month tbh x

let's see if i can get the mods to overturn the concept of song the Buzzjack Song Contest to send 40 songs :o

Why not just make a 20 minute long ‘Aeroche 90s Dance Medley’ for next month? Surefire win in the bag in the iconic 100th contest and still keeping within the rules as long as the really obvious hits are left out *.*

That might encourage me to send the 15-minute epic I'm considering as a possible entry :D
