Your Song did very well, they should have thought about it then and this now was supposed to be the second single when LT would give her more hype in the middle. No one asked to rush the album now.

Would have made sense, you have to question record label decisions sometimes.

He must be one of the most peculiar artists to have ever been at #1 in the UK, he's at number 10 on iTunes at 41.16% now so I don't know if that would be enough to keep him at number one on the Official Chart again this week

Think it helps if anything these days to be honest. It's so called cool and edgy to look different.

Rita is definitely better off releasing next year. Her album would get lost in the Q4 charts. The albums being bought at this time of year are mostly for Xmas presents.

 

The biggest demographics for Xmas presents would be mums, dads, grannies and to a lesser extent, young kids.

 

Rita’s demographic isn’t really any of those. She’s a pop star who has a wider but not a niche appeal.

 

The likes of Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Adele etc. do well in Q4 cos they appeal to the above markets.

 

Rita will certainly chart higher when she doesn’t have that competition.

The album's been ready since March/April - Your Song was the last song to be recorded for it. I can only assume the label wants to build her back up in the music industry as much as possible before releasing. Girls is supposedly coming in January and I expect the album will follow that!
