Yeah, Sam is probably the most unlikeable ‘big star’ of today, which has affected him a lot. Wasn’t a problem with his debut album.

I thought that title would have went to Taylor or Justin

Maybe its his drastic weight loss and image change so people don't realize its him on the cover

Or it's scared them off :kink: It is pretty terrifying to be fair

Bre is right about Sam. It’s a relative underperformance. If, say, Rita Ora were opening on these sales we’d be shocked she was selling so much. But people seem to be forgetting how huge Sam was in his first era. The Lonely Hour campaign pretty much ran alongside Ed’s last era and regardless of the fact it was his second era, they were both just as big as one another. The fact his album isn’t going to match his debut’s opening is quite surprising and will be way under what his label would be expecting. And saying that, his debut came out when he was only just starting to get big, the campaign ran over a year longer and he was about 3x as big by the end of it.

He wasn't as 'known' then. I am not saying i don't like him, but the impression I get is a lot of people have been turned off from him recently.

What makes Sam Smith unlikeable? Sounds like an opinion with little factual basis

Referring himself as the 'only openly gay Oscars winner', texting Tom Daley when he is in a relationship, generally being very egotistical and then releasing something as bland as 'Too Good At Goodbyes' as his lead single.

Katie Melua is an odd choice for the CIN single. There hasn’t been any buzz around that that I’ve noticed.

You started with pieces of ‘evidence’ and then fell into your own opinion. I don’t get the over-arching impression from what I’ve seen that he is unlikeable. You may not like his song but others have and do.

There’s many, many receipts. He comes across as very ignorant.

Random question but what are the rules surrounding multiple album purchases? Is there a limit to the number of copies that can be bought in one transation and have them all count towards the chart?

Why, how many copies of Sam's album are you thinking of buying?

I think he's on for about 90k. He'll decrease to about 8/7k daily from now, but Thursday night he'll have a strong increase.

To answer Taylor Swift fans' question, 'Look What You Made Me Do' is chart ineligible this week and would fall to #66 in today's mids without the artist cap ruling.

We should be lucky there is an artist cap though otherwise there is a takeover of Sam Smith and Dave in the top 100.
