Maybe if this Maroon 5 album bombs, they’ll start getting back to their roots and not releasing crap music. The album is growing but it probably won’t ever be more than their worst one for me. Loving Pink’s staying power with her album though.

Indeed hope Revenge starts getting airplay! I assume it'll have an impact date of the week before xmas so airplay will be at its height when album sales are at their peak!

I love Maroon 5's singles but was so disappointed with the album :(

Sam set for just 90k? How embarrassing.

Rag’n’Bone Man entered with over 100k

Kygo should be set for top 40. Shame his album has flopped.

What a disaster for Kygo, not even in the top 100 in the album chart.

Human was one of the biggest hits of the year tbf tho!

Too Good At Goodbye is a big hit too.. by a more established, generally well liked artist (in the minds of the gbp), in a better sales period with bigger and better promotion. I wouldn't say he's "flopping" at this point, just underperforming.
It was a big hit I know although a bit like Taylor's no1 it seemed to take advantage of the public desperate to hear new music from the artist!

I don't feel like 'Havana' sounds like a #1 and I haven't heard it around that much surprisingly. As much as I love rockstar neither did that!

Sam Smith and that Dua Lipa song do feel like genuine #1s though, its hard to explain.

Shame the new Taylor probably won't be even top 40 by weeks end must have done well first day to be top 20 ATM but I'm guessing streaming missing so its higher than it should be

I know what you mean. But Havana feels huge to me, it’s all over Radio and TV. Rockstar doesn’t feel like a number one to me, neither does Too Good At Goodbyes.

Sam Smith and Taylor Swift probably won’t have another #1 with the singles from their album. Like someone said earlier, their tracks probably only went to #1 because people were desperate to hear new stuff from them.

Ah! I'm stunned at low sales for Sam Smith. I was expecting him to clear 200k bare minimum for this week. Wow. He's no Adele or Ed Sheeran. I thought he was right up there with them but he isn't. It's a under performance. It'll still sell well over Christmas and with a few singles he'll sell maybe a million copies in the UK which seems unlikely at the minute. Taylor will smash his UK and US sales next week.

If he sells anything less than 100k this week in the UK he is set for a huge embarrassment. I mean blooming Take That sold more with Wonderland in Q2 this year!

rockstar definitely feels like a #1! everyone seems to know and like it, whereas I wouldn't say the same hype has applied for Too Good At Goodbyes.

I can see Sam's sales holding up very consistently this week, I reckon he'll clear 100k easily. Have the streaming figures been added does anyone know? as given he's still climbing up spotify with the album tracks, he may have between 15-20k of streaming sales to add by the end of the week imho.

I think people will be surprised at Taylors sales next week, I reckon she'll struggle to clear 100k given how LWYMMD flopped. Her last album only opened with 90k and that was with a massive lead single. Sam's TGAG I wouldn't say was no.1 just based of hype like Taylor, its consistently held ground since its release.

Ed Sheeran is always on trend or safe with releases though, same with Adele, comfort zone. This gospel stuff from Sam Smith isn't on trend in the slightest nor, imo, is it playing to his strengths. Sam Smith started out as a ballad boy who also did some cool features, this time round so far he's neither of those things. Same as Emeli Sande's second effort tbh.

what you talking about?

sam smith's 2nd album is identical to his first, it's like Stay with Me repeated x 10 times, as safe as it gets

was thinking, isn't it strange that Kygo is not even top 100 in albums?

Say what?!

Charity dirge singles aside, "rockstar." is the least number 1 feeling song of recent memory.
