Welcome to Unknown Pleasures vs Nuggets! In this semi we've got all the former winners of Unknown Pleasures. Were the voters right in these contests? Which winners have staying power and which are really of their time? Hopefully there's some nostalgia here for some of you. Please do vote in the Nuggets Semi that Lindsey's running as well!

12 point system, the top 15 tracks will qualify for the final. PM your votes to me before 23:59 on the 24th of November. I know this is a different set up to usual contests, however you still cannot vote for your own entries if you have any.

Will compile a YouTube playlist (although if anyone else beats me to it I'd appreciate it xx), don't do Spotify but might try working out an Apple Music one and if anyone else wants to make a Spotify one go ahead.

Can't wait to listen through this semi *.* Aside from the contest I was in, I already know and love the MssingNo, Fae and Let's Eat Grandma songs  I can't remember if I ever checked out that SOLDOUT song but I have loved everything that I have heard by them so far, so hopefully this is a good'un too.

I never realised VNV Nation were a former UP winning artist ;o

Most of the winners since I started entering (UP 10) I do remember liking quite a lot! 'RUOK' simply has to win this contest, there is no alternative x

Most of them were in UP before they were in BJSC I think ~ (possibly all bar SOLDOUT?)
I didn't even realise Joywave had been sent here before I sent Dangerous to BJSC, I only realised that when putting stuff together for this :')

it just goes to show how much we recycle from there lmao

The first winner I was around for! Good song as well, easily their best.

Because UP is FAR more strict on reusing artists - basically: don't do it, it's quite common for an artist first surfacing to go into UP, then turn up in BJSC, then actually get something popular with something far more accessible than that first UP entry.

We have normally been really good at picking winners from UP, barely any there I wouldn't choose to listen to so it'll be quite tough to vote, I'd like Inouwee to sneak in (and maybe recency will help it) but I'm not expecting anything.

I didn't realize Purity Ring has won UP before. Fantastic.

yay for me having my winner here and also my third placer from Nuggets in the other semi.

ooh yay!! some FAB entries here. i don't think bobmo will be able to hold its own (i always see it as a total fluke winner) but HOPEFULLY mssingno can do some damage!

Edited that into the OP, sorry it wasn't mentioned before.
So ever since Pink released 'What About Us' a few months ago I've been trying to work out what song it reminded me of, and now that I'm listening through these I realize the intro sounds like the intro to 'Lucifer's Eyes'!!! :o

Planning to host a plug session for this evening (Monday)! Not 100% sure on the time but I'll post an update in this thread. Can always do tomorrow if it doesn't work out for people.

Okay this is still happening just had a networking event at uni! Going to aim for 20:30 to start this- at the bus back home right now, might be a taad later but 9 at the latest. Fortunately it's only 25 songs so either way it won't go too late for anyone with an early start (I reckon 2 hours max). See you then!

Would love to get more votes for this- only had 2 so far, I'm sure after the plug session and closer to the deadline more will come in but if you've just viewed this and it interests you at all just vote- it's so interesting hearing all the older winners!
