I think Paloma is safe for #1, but her sales are going to fall dramatically after today. I'm guessing Ed Sheeran could do the double next week after the X Factor performance, #1 in both charts :nocheer: and Sam Smith hogging the #2 :drama:

Noel Gallagher will be #1 for sure next week

Looks like Camila is safe at #1 for another week. As for Katie Melua I wouldn't be surprised if it misses the top 40 by Friday
Doubt Ed will beat Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds next week in the Album Chart.

I didn't realise Noel's album is out next week, I'm so out of the loop with new music lately as I haven't had much activity online due to my personal heavy schedule during the week.

I'm so proud of Paloma's #1 position & sales. I hope she stays as far ahead of Morrissey as possible!

I had though Rita would be number 1 so i find it disappointing she isnt.

Wonderful to see Paloma Faith sitting on the top of the album chart, it would be wonderful is she can stay and i believe her chances are strong.

I had expected the Green Day Greatest Hits release to be performing much better as it is a first hits compilation from them.

Given the recent backlash Morrissey has faced, I doubt that he can sell more than 30k by Friday

What was the backlash about?

They had a compelation album out about 15 years ago 'International Superhits', but only features tracks pre 'American Idiot'.

They should change the rules so that Xmas songs can only be eligible to chart in December

Morrissey's Sales are all ready higher than the first week Sales of his previous Album (18,762 Sales for 'World Peace Is None Of Your Business' in July 2014), I guess the advantage of releasing in Q4.

Sales for Paloma and Morrissey will dry up as the week goes on but it does look like Paloma will do it unless there is a surprise release.

Sia :(

Hoping Paloma can hold on.

How the hell is that Big Shaq thing so high!!

Sia :(

The advantage of releasing a Christmas album now is that she'll sell more as the weeks progress closer to Xmas anyway.

I did expect Paloma to be on higher sales at this point but I'm praying it will just sell steady over the festive period.

Because he's an icon of our generation.

The ting goes skrrrahh, pap, pap, ka-ka-ka

Skibiki-pap-pap, and a pu-pu-pudrrrr-boom

Skya, du-du-ku-ku-dun-dun

Poom, poom

I do wonder now if there'll be a campaign to get Big Shaq to #1 for Christmas. Seems like the sort of ting that might happen, so I'd expect him to be in the top 10 until the new year.

You couldn't resist that  unless its a typo ;)

Hopefully Paloma how's number 1 but it still looks like any of the top 5 could take it atmq
