November 20, 20178 yr They should change the rules so that Xmas songs can only be eligible to chart in December No a better idea would be ONLY Xmas songs can chart in December :cheer:
November 20, 20178 yr Pleased to see Tokio as high as #3! His X Factor performance had a good reception judging by the iTunes progress of 'Angel', so I guess that promo has worked wonders.
November 20, 20178 yr Find it interesting how Sam Smith's single success in the UK & AU this year is similar, but over here he missed #1 and has already fallen behind Sheeran in his 2nd week o.O Not sure if I've misread this but Sam Smith is on for his 3rd week on the chart this week having fallen 1-2 behind Taylor last week?
November 20, 20178 yr The over here part I'm guessing isn't the UK so unsure why they mention it here since they don't specify where they are from Edited November 20, 20178 yr by 777666jason
November 20, 20178 yr The over here part I'm guessing isn't the UK so unsure why they mention it here since they don't specify where they are from Ohhh yes thats an NZ flag by their name :) I read it as referring to the single performance in the UK & AU vs. the album performance rather than a third country. November 20, 20178 yr Ohhh yes thats an NZ flag by their name :) Whoops don't pay that close attention to those details in profiles
November 20, 20178 yr No a better idea would be ONLY Xmas songs can chart in December :cheer: Well we are actually very likely to get a chart comprising of >50% Xmas songs by the end of December due to streaming and ACR. Last year's post-Xmas chart looked like this, with 39 Xmas songs in the Top 100.
November 20, 20178 yr Ohhh yes thats an NZ flag by their name :) I read it as referring to the single performance in the UK & AU vs. the album performance rather than a third country. Australia but close enough
November 20, 20178 yr Australia but close enough  The image isn't the clearest, they're very similar flags :P And I'm extremely good with flags  ! Hang on I think I completely misread in the first place, so basically the album didn't make number 1 in Australia. Ignore me  Edited November 20, 20178 yr by Lenny
November 20, 20178 yr Oh so they mean the single has been equally successful but compared to here the album is doing poorly in Australia

Ignore me  Yeah, though as a handy hint you can mouse over the flag and it tells you what country it is ;) Oh so they mean the single has been equally successful but compared to here the album is doing poorly in Australia Yep that's exactly what I was saying :)
November 20, 20178 yr I must admit Paloma Faith album covers are amazing they get better on every release, that's her best cover to date. I really adore that cover
November 20, 20178 yr So you were right Lenny I was wrong sorry for confusing you
November 20, 20178 yr Yeah, though as a handy hint you can mouse over the flag and it tells you what country it is ;) Only if you're on a laptop/computer :P
November 20, 20178 yr Nice to see Luis Fonsi and Demi top 40! A shame it doesn't look likely to stay there? So good
November 20, 20178 yr Great to see Paloma #1. Hopefully she'll manage to do 40k+ by the end of the week! P!nk #12 - will rise back in the top 10 with some new entries ahead of her likely to fall I believe. That and "Beautiful Trauma" is finally getting some spins from BBC Radio 2 and is at #92 in the midweeks - hopefully it'll climb a bit more come Friday.
November 20, 20178 yr Pretty underwhelming sales for the week we are in - Paloma should break 35k but Morrissey will likely only break 25k as I'm sure he will sell poorly over the week. I imagine Ed/Sam/Ball will catch significantly and break 30k!!
November 20, 20178 yr A good showing for Tokio's album, hoping he might hold up better than Morrissey over the week and end up grabbing #2 (or holding #3 if he's overtaken by Sam). Nice for Paloma looking like finally having a #1 album to her name after coming so close twice before.
