With only 3 charts before the Christmas chart it is looking wide open in both the Singles and Album chart for the Christmas number 1 spot.

The low sales really add to the unpredictability as something could quite easily come out of the pack with the right amount of Promo.

Prefer it to the years when the #1 was a foregone conclusion however just hope we get a deserved Christmas #1 (in both charts).

I really hope so! Such a good tune

4 charts. I agree with your point though - I would be satisfied with either an actual Christmas song snatching it or Anywhere by Rita. Even Perfect would be a fitting Christmas #1 despite not liking it originally. It's been Ed's year after all. I'm still backing Last Christmas though.

Think it'll be between Last Christmas and Perfect myself, that's if there is actually going to be a Wham for #1 campaign.
Unless Spotify start promoting Wham! more I don't see why they'd overtake Mariah tbh. Maybe on downloads I guess but I don't think that'd be enough to overcome her streaming advantage. Very hard to predict the Xmas #1 this year!
Beginning to think Rita could nab this, here's hoping anyway *_*

Wham will probably get quite a lot of downloads on Christmas week, as the song famously was denied of a #1 position so it seems likely there'll be a fan campaign to get it to finally make #1 as a tribute.

4 charts.

3 charts, Dec 1st , 8th, 15th and then Christmas Chart on Dec 22nd.

I can see the X Factor winners track taking it for a week or 2 if the track takes off before the Christmas chart is revealed

Agree with you on 'Last Christmas' , it is the bookies favourite and there is plenty of time for some momentum, wouldn't mind betting there is another George Michael documentary lined up before Christmas.
The Wham for Christmas No1 campaign only has 276 followers on twitter! How many on the Facebook page I assume it has too?

I think if Rak Du win X Factor might have it, ironically when running away from thr battle!

About 26k. Still early days, it is a campaign that just needs to peak at the right time.

I don't think a 'Wham for #1' campaign on social media needs to be that successful. 'Last Christmas' is going to be streamed like crazy regardless and will naturally have the people's backing, much like 'One Last Time'.
The twitter page states clearly that a download is worth a lot more than a stream and they've urged everyone to download it!
Pity we seem to have no Tuesday update to see daily sales!
What is the lowesr ever sales for a Christmas no1 single and album? It wouldn’t surprise me if both statistics are achieved this year. I think I remember reading Robbie Williams & Nicole Kidman had the lowest Christmas no1 single in last 10-15 years but they still sold about 90k and recent single sales have been well below those levels for quite some time and can’t see them recovering much with such a paltry pre-Christmas release schedule this year!
I really dont want Wham to be the Christmas number 1. That said, i find it so frustrating that so many of the Christmas songs that are all stable classics were never Number 1 hits.
