I really hope it's just his lyrics that gets used, it'd be ridiculous if he sang the next Bond theme too but it seems inevitable now as seemingly the only thing left he hasn't won is an Oscar.

I remember I was very surprised when 'A Team' became such a big hit, considering we hadn't had anything like it in the charts for a while (it was mostly EDM-pop tracks and pure pop back then doing well) and I mostly only heard it on radio 1 nighttime back then and assumed it wasn't going to be a hit.

 

 

Say what you will about Sam Smith’s Bond theme, or his voice which I detest, but at least his voice had a lot of power in it Like is usually required for a Bond theme. Ed’s voice is extremely weak and would be terrible.

 

And his lyrics are probably beyond cringe.

I've heard lots of unjust criticisms of Ed on these forums but saying he has a weak voice probably takes the biscuit.

 

Like Ed or not I didn't think anyone could argue about his voice, ot is full of soul, it is still his absolute selling point, like Adele that his songs feel heartfelt because of his voice.

Unlike Adele, he couldn’t hold a Bond theme. By weak, I didn’t mean poor, just not powerful. He just doesn’t have the lungs on him that Adele, Sam Smith and many other singers have.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind ed that much (well except perfect overkill) Galway girl and castle on the hill 2 of my favourite songs of the year but to have a James Bond song ready and waiting just in case is a bit vain isn’t it comes across like he’s entitled and if not chosen

 

 

Which again is weird because on celebrity juice he was so normal up for anything and I mean anything and a laugh

Well Ed will hopefully have a new song out by then. He should choose “Nancy Mulligan” as the fifth single from Divide to coincide with St Patrick’s Day

I'm really hoping we get a well deserved break from Ed in 2018.
