Really weak for the Saturday, follows a bit of an industry trend across festivals at the moment which shows weak and the same bookings. The industry is crying out for fresh talent post covid.

As much as people enjoy TikTok, I do think this trend has contributed to the dire state the industry is in at the moment and a complete lack of new stars or big talent pricing themselves to only do their own shows.

Yeah, you've got just one arena act (RAYE) - and even then that was just the O2 on its own, and she was at Big Weekend last year.

2019's Saturday blows this out of the water:

Mumford & Sons, Anne-Marie, Sigala, Billie Eilish, James Arthur, Jess Glynne, Foals, Miley Cyrus.

You even had massive names on the second stage: Stormzy, Sam Fender, The Amazons, Lewis Capaldi, Charli XCX, Khalid, Vampire Weekend, Future, Bring Me The Horizon.

It’s a decent selection but nothing wow imo. I think I will try to go though, as Luton is only half an hour from me and is like to experience a big weekend!

Yeah, that's a pretty weak Saturday lineup in comparison to previous years. RAYE is a solid booking but as a headliner? Joel Corry seems to always attract pretty big crowds at Big Weekend so I guess that's an intelligent booking there (although three years in a row on Main Stage is a tad boring). Kinda annoyed that Charli isn't on Main Stage as she feels a lot bigger than the other acts listed there (at least Mabel, Griff, Joel and even potentially Aitch + she was meant to play Main Stage in 2022).

Hype for Shygirl and Tems tho, they always put on a fantastic show :cheer:

Eh.

Out of the two stages on the Saturday, I’d only be interested in Charli XCX and The Last Dinner Party. Possibly Rag too.

ShyGirl as well!

Crikey, that’s a significantly stronger day!

It’s quite a jump in headliner size to. From Chase & Status & RAYE to… one of the biggest acts in the world.

Can only assume someone pulled out of the Saturday who was due to headline and RAYE has been bumped up.

Sunday will be really hard to get tickets for you'd imagine, even with a Luton postcode.

Radio 1 really misled me with that mid Saturday lineup. Sunday's lineup is INCREDIBLE! Coldplay are a massive booking, arguably the biggest act globally to be booked for a proper Big Weekend since Taylor Swift in 2018 (based off of monthly listeners on Spotify). Vampire Weekend and Everything Everything are both incredible live as well so that should be a joy to watch!
Sunday!

Think that confirms continued R1 support for Coldplays new album, which is great to see.

Fantastic line up that - Coldplay, Beabadoobee, Vampire Weekend, Olivia Dean, CMAT, Everything Everything!

Clara's last week presenting Future Sounds from tomorrow. She will be celebrating by playing her favourite Hottest Records, 'Future Sounds' and also Live Lounge performances. Her final show is on Wednesday as the Ten Hour Takeover is back on Thursday and the Dance Family pushed up a day for Easter.

Jack also finishes Future Artists this week.

Both shows will have different guest hosts for a couple of weeks after.

Easter Weekend

Good Friday - Dean McCullough is doing breakfast, the rest of the day is normal apart from Arielle Free and Charlie Tee doing the respective Radio 1 Dance shows.

It’s changing to the ‘New Music Show’ then when Jack takes over, hope they keep the Hottest Record feature as I like the hype it produces for an artist!

I’d be very very surprised if they did.

Yeh it’s been around since I can remember (the start of the century)!

There's a Europe's Biggest Soundsystem Party takeover this Saturday. Jeremiah Asiamah is doing a warm-up show at 7pm before kicking off the main event at 8pm then Mouv’ in Paris continues from 9pm with 1Live Cologne in Germany concluding the takeover from 10pm-11pm.

Oh, what happened to Arielle and Charlie

They’re on Good Friday, Jeremiah is on Saturday!
