January 2, 20188 yr So we are basically back to week ending 4/12 in chart terms lolMore or less, yes! This is where I miss the old days of physical singles as the New Year chart used to see lots of new entries from fan based acts along with some belting dance tunes which had been held back until after Christmas. Instead all we have now is old hits moving back up the chart. Goodness knows what the chart will be like next week as the new release schedule still looks a bit thin on the ground so sales are going to plummet over the next couple of weeks.
January 2, 20188 yr I would love This is me to make top 40 (The greatest show too) as I feel some radio exposure could make these songs explode.
January 2, 20188 yr I doubt they even care about the UK charts. Post Malone probably has no clue he was #1 in the UK  Camilla Cabello certainly did according to her initial reaction on the Radio 1 chart show despite not being British. Edited January 2, 20188 yr by zenon
January 3, 20188 yr Hoping to see a boost for Prince Albums after last night's Documentary on Channel 4 - '4Ever' all ready Top 100 but pleasing to see 'HITNRUN' Phase One and Two Albums getting biggest boost on Amazon (as the Documentary was about his last year).
January 3, 20188 yr Not much discussion on the #1 Album this week, thought Ed Sheeran would be clear favourite but with 'The Greatest Showman' (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) top on iTunes and Amazon now I'm not so sure - if Ed does stay top this week it will be the first time an Album has stayed at the top since August (well since Ed did it last time). 'The Greatest Showman' entered at #39 overall last week but should be on course for a top 3 placing - 'La La Land' (same songwriters as 'The Greatest Showman') went 3-2-1 around the same time last year so may be a gradual rise to top again.
January 3, 20188 yr is there going to be a chart update this week? We know about as much as you do I'm afraid. I'm hoping Music Week will give us an update tonight!

January 3, 20188 yr Rita ora not even in with a shot of number 1  Album sales are far higher than I thought they would be. Great too pink heading for a new peak
January 3, 20188 yr YEY at 'Symphony' looking likely to re-enter the top 20 this week! I wonder if 'I Miss You' could manage a new peak within the top five?
January 3, 20188 yr This is me should make top 40 for defo then. I might even listen to the chart show to hear them play it on radio 1.
January 3, 20188 yr Will there be a mass coming-off-ACR this week then? It depends on how big the sales increases are. Some of the songs will undoubtedly be rebounding without much of an increase at all, if any, and it's simply due to the Christmas songs vanishing. Time will tell I guess!
January 3, 20188 yr How is Perfect so far ahead perfect combined has been doing double than the rest on itunes and being slightly ahead on spotify
January 3, 20188 yr I want Keala and Camila NBTS to remain top 40 Edited January 3, 20188 yr by Hadji
January 3, 20188 yr Author Ed has only got 2 more days of sales left I should imagine he do around 55k or less for the week, if JT has got a good lead by this time next week with his new track release on Friday, he could actually do it. as Ed's sales are decreasing slightly.
