Justine Greening said by The Telegraph to be losing her job at Education which comes as a surprise as she's not been bad in her brief and doesn't seem to be hated by the teaching unions like her predecessors were. Reports that May finds her "condescending" Jeremy Hunt to be probably made Deputy PM with a new Health Secretary which may be Greening if she's kept in cabinet.

Hammond, Johnson and Rudd to stay where they are.

I think that if Hunt is replaced every hospital in England will spontaneously erupt in cheers and applause and tears of happiness.

That May thinks his failure as Health Secretary deems him worthy of a promotion to Deputy PM is a damning indictment of her, her government and her party.

For the Tories, that's where she's gone wrong.

It would be a natural progression for him. At the DCM (and also) S he was effectively the minister for Murdoch which got him promoted. Now a spell as minister for Branson looks like earning him another promotion.

Can't we just reshuffle the whole lot of them into the sun??

Especially Hhhhunt.

He better go. Deputy PM my ARSE but anythin to stop him privatising the NHS. Odious worm!!!!

Not many changes yet. James Brokenshire resigns as NI Secretary for health reasons as he needs a lung op soon.

Greening has reportedly left the cabinet as she was offered the DWP and refused it. Let's face it, the DWP brief is a poison chalice with the benefit cuts for disabled and Universal Credit.

Hunt stay with added responsibilty for social care. Apparently refused to move and suggested he take on social care too and May liked his bright idea.

The DWP is the new Northern Ireland Office (as fans of Yes Minister will attest to).

Thwy are desperate to privatise the nhs and social care and hve their no.1 slimeball in charge. They won't change him.
worst reshuffle ever?

If you can even call it a reshuffle!

Bringing health and social care together is replicating a move first done in NI and since adopted in Scotland and possibly Wales. Makes sense seeing as bed blocking can be reduced with proper joined up care for the elderly.

However, hunt the c**t will monumentally botch the shit out of this. Social Care is so badly funded right now it makes the NHS look functional and swimming in funds. Also primarily controlled by local authorities that have to deal with a number of NHS trusts. System is so badly broken. I don’t get why Manchester is covered by like 6 different trusts instead of just NHS Greater Manchester. Centralise functions such as procurement, HR and finance where you can make efficiency savings by reducing the need for 6 people to do individually do a job that could be done better by a team of say 4 and benefit from economies of scale. Resource your hospitals appropriately, grouping specialists from the same discipline together under one roof rather than spread unevenly through the system (I.e. having Hospital Z as your neonatal specialist centre and hospital K as the primary major trauma centre and hospital R as your primary cancer facility)

It just feels like a broken system that people make worse instead of better.

Like my home trust, NHS Fife has a bunch of centralised services based out of Kirkcaldy that serve all the hospitals through the county. Our trusts are typically larger too. Glasgow and basically the entire West Coast is covered by a single board, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Not saying it’s a perfect system, but on pretty much every metric services up north are better.

Ok that took a Turn. TLDR hunt = c**t

Well only since IDS made a complete hash of Universal Credit !

To be honest the humiliating way this reshuffle has played out through today just highlights how utterly weak and powerless the PM is, and not (how she likely wanted it to look) show her tenacious spirit and her ability to listen to the concerns of the public. Literally a PM by default.

That's going too far down the typical government "one size fits all" path. It makes perfect sense to group specialists together in one hospital in Manchester or Liverpool, but it makes less sense in Cumbria.
