£1,000,000 is not actually that much money anymore? on what planet?

it’s still far and away the biggest prize you can win on tv regardless of inflation.

Agreed. I wouldn't mind half a million never mind a million.

  • They can now set their safety net at any after the £1,000 question.

When you compare this potential jackpot to the likes of Pointless & The Chase it still absolutely dwarfs them. One day I'ma apply for one of these shows...

Why not make "one of these days"...today? Here's the application form.

I don't think that Jeremy Clarkson will make a decent host of this. Then again, if in 1998 you thought that the bloke from Tiswas & Man O Man would end up hosting the show for over 10 years and gaining ratings in excess of 15 million, people would've thought you were crazy.

ITV have confirmed the start date to be Saturday May 5th at 9 p.m. for 7 consecutive nights
New lifeline announced, which is "Ask The Host", which could provide interesting. Also being introduced is the ability to set your own 2nd safe point, rather than the traditional £32,000, which doesn't strike me as interesting straight away.

I'm enjoying the return of this! The implementation of the host lifeline was a good move I think.

The QWERTY question was a proper shout at the telly moment for me  SALAD, pick SALAD!!!

Same!! when the phone a friend guy said "cheese" I was like :drama:

I thoroughly enjoyed that, Jeremy Clarkson was way more natural in the role than I expected and I'm quite happy to say he proved me wrong in just about every way lol.

Clarkson was a lot better than I had expected. He seems pretty relaxed and proved to be a good host. The ability to et the second safety net is an intriguing change. It'll be interesting to see how far people take that.

A nice cheap start for ITV / the production company tonight

I absolutely loved this! The return of this iconic theme tune *.* Jeremy Clarkson was a lot better than I thought he would be. He quips were hilarious!

I'm enjoying this, on one set of questions I got easily to 32,000 without using a lifeline  the coriander question, I just took a guess as the cilantro started with a C :heehee:

Jeremy Clarkson as a host is very good actually, "got to go to the bathroom, let's take a break" Ha

Yesterday's question over the Qwerty keyboard, it was so obvious its Salad, ring a friend... Cheese  if you use a keyboard all the time its so easy to work out.

So yeah this is actually pretty good. I loved this show so much back in the day and it's very much the same with some interesting add-ons (how awkward that the host could lose them money :kink:) it's great seeing that again and playing along. And yeah, Jeremy isn't too unbearable here and actually rather funny, so that's a nice surprise.

Really enjoying this so far. Seems a lot more relaxed than the original series & Clarkson's quips are generally on the money without going too far.

Although that seems to have brought about a CBA attitude from the contestants, like losing without using a single lifeline? That's the sort of stuff I'd do on the app with nothing to lose.

I DESPISE Clarkson like you wouldn't believe but I'm also really enjoying this! I think it is maybe a bit *too* relaxed as above though, there isn't that same intensity as the old version but that could get a bit drawn out and dull at times so I do enjoy this as well. It's just a really nice easy and enjoyable quiz watch on an evening which sometimes is all you need!

Loving what I've seen so far, but I probably wouldn't have watched if Clarkson wasn't presenting. Found the original WWTBAM boring.

I hope at least one person wins really big money though, I'm guessing we would know if someone had won the million? I remember it used to be all over the papers if anyone ever got the big prize.

Not really a big fan of Clarkson either but he really is brilliant on this! I thought it was an odd choice but it really has worked so much better than I thought.

I’m glad it had that break too because I was completely fed up and bored of the show in the last few years of its original run but I’ve actually been excited to watch this! One of the improvements is that it drags on a lot less as I was fed up with each question taking like 5 minutes each before. Although it maybe has gone the other way where people immediatley answer or use a lifeline with like no thought. It maybe is a bit too laidback as people have said, but definitely a step in the right direction for me.
