Discussion thread split due to other thread reaching 50 posts! :D (thought it would be best to start it with the tracklisting)

Disappointing tracklist. However, that's more down to this horrendous urban music scene atm and it dominating disc 2. :(

I wonder if Fifty Shades are holding the rights to 'For You' (and possibly 'Capital Letters') until Now 100, for after the DVD release?

Must be. Ellie Goulding's song was delayed to a summer NOW (and then every spin-off). The problem is: Will it still be big during NOW 100/Summer?

Only slightly better than Now 98 which was the first one I didn’t buy in some time. Disc 1 is ok but disc 2 is poor. So many omissions!

Tbh, with how slow the charts move, I'd say it's been big enough to warrant a late addition, even if it's not top 40 by the time that Now 100 is released. I think Gooddelta is right. I think they've missed off the bigger hits like 'For You' and 'This Is Me' etc.. (partially coz of licensing issues) but mainly so they have more actual hits for the milestone album!
In all fairness, there’s only been 3 #1s since the last Now and all three are by artists who hate being on Now albums. And some other big hits which seem like odd omissions (This Is Me, For You, All The Stars) are from recent soundtracks who also hate being on Now albums. I’m sure the next Now will have at least Ed, Drake, Keala & Rita/Liam - maybe even Taylor now we’ve got Ready For It on Now 99. All things considered I would still say this is one of the better springtime Nows of recent years, sure there’s a few non-Top 40 songs on here but most of them are either well known anyway (Kylie) or likely to be Top 40 soon (CLiQ)
I’m all for Calum Scott appearing but I’d have preferred the Leona duet version instead of the solo version

I couldn’t sleep in the hospital so decided to make a pointless Disc 3 tracklist using omissions both new and old;

1. Ed Sheeran – Perfect

2. Meghan Trainor – No Excuses

3. Taylor Swift – Delicate

4. Drake – God’s Plan

5. Eminem feat. Ed Sheeran – River

6. Kendrick Lamar & SZA – All The Stars

7. Bazzi – Mine

8. Kojo Funds feat. RAYE – Check

9. The Weeknd feat. Kendrick Lamar – Pray For Me

10. Justin Timberlake – Filthy

11. Jorja Smith feat. Stormzy – Let Me Down

12. Post Malone – I Fall Apart

13. MNEK – Tongue

14. Years & Years – Sanctify

15. Bebe Rexha feat. Florida Georgia Line – Meant To Be

16. RAYE, Mabel & Stefflon Don – Cigarette

17. Anne-Marie – Heavy

18. Liam Payne & Rita Ora – For You

19. Keala – This Is Me

20. Katie Melua – Fields Of Gold

21. Elbow – Golden Slumbers

22. Liam Gallagher – For What It’s Worth

Look out for it in a future Now 99 thread someday!

CD 2 looks like ear porn for all the roadmen out there! It says it all about the stagnant and uncompetitive nature of the UK charts that there isn't a number one that is featured here. A few years ago compilations like this would have been littered with them. Gone are the days when you can have 10 or more songs that reached number one in the Official chart featured on a NOW! album.

Bouuf Daddy is easily the best song on this album in my opinion!

Looking at the positioning of the songs in the tracklist I would guess that "These Days", "IDGAF", "Feel It Still", "Barking", "Say Something", "Breathe" will be the songs that feature on the advert.

The start of Disc 2, from about 1-12... There won't be so much urban crossover music on a NOW again I'd have thought.
According to Rag’n’Bone Man’s discography, “As You Are” is the fourth single with “Grace” being the fifth which means they should’ve included “As You Are” on 98 and “Grace” on 99. They did that with Spice Girls in 1998 putting “Stop” on 39, “Viva Forever” on 40 and “Too Much” on 41 when it should’ve been “Too Much” on 39, “Stop” on 40 and “Viva Forever” on 41
If it wasn't for that old Oasis song I wouldn't know a single track on there - I thought it was just there as some kind of meta comment at how the Now albums will "live forever" and as a goodbye to the 1987-2018 two digit era.
The only song from NOW 99 which has been edited is “Breathe” whereas on NOW Running 2018, it is left in full. No other tracks from NOW 99 have been edited
Advert out

The best song on the album opening the advert *.*

But I can’t see Beautiful Trauma anywhere in the advert?

Looking at the positioning of the songs in the tracklist I would guess that "These Days", "IDGAF", "Feel It Still", "Barking", "Say Something", "Breathe" will be the songs that feature on the advert.

I got most of them correct! I should have known that they would feature Taylor Swift as well.

Shows how much of a flop Taylor is when she’s half arsedly thrown out 3 songs since the song included on this.
To be fair, Delicate hasn’t impacted yet (so could still be on the next Now) and End Game features Ed Sheeran (who is noticeably absent from this Now)
Songs on NOW 99 which are album-only are “IDGAF”, “Lullaby”, “Dancing”, “Psycho”, “Look Alive”, “No Words” and “Live Forever”

I love how the booklet describes Dua Lipa as new iconic queen of pop and supports it by saying ‘the majority of her singles have gone top 20’. How standards have fallen...

I also love how everyone and their dog are touring.
