At the time one of my mates was actually living with Leah when that came out and she was pretty devastated it didn't become a hit. Particularly as will.i.am had collaborated with her and around the same time had a number 1 hit with "It's My Birthday", and Ella Henderson had just had a big hit with "Ghost" too (obviously from X-Factor, but she didn't win, etc) and also Becky Hill had just had her number 1 with "Gecko (Overdrive)" too. All the ingredients were there.

Yeah Becky got to the semis! It's odd, even in the US they haven't really had many huge artists from The Voice, the biggest is probably Cassadee Pope who had a fairly big country hit with Wasting All These Tears and a top 10 album, and I guess Melanie Martinez as well who I think came 5th or something. For some reason the format just doesn't seem to stick at creating stars. It feels a bit like watching glorified karaoke to me when you know not a lot is gonna happen afterwards :lol:

 

I think from us the highest peak is still Stevie McCrorie's winning single which I believe got to #8, and then Leah McFall's random top 10 cover of I Will Survive is the only other top 10! Home really should have been, it was actually a great pop song that seemed like it had effort put into it unlike a lot Voice debuts.

I wasn't around much yesterday but I presume the SLFN performances didn't have much of an effect on iTunes?

Snow Patrol "Don't Give In" is at #69 - but I have no idea if it was around there prior, I'm just guessing not...

As much as I like Leah McFall, the artwork for her single is f***ing awful she looks like E.T.

That iconically bad artwork is literally the only good thing related to Leah McFall. She was atrocious on the show and 'Home' was... not terrible, but really nothing special and it's not surprising at all to me that it didn't take off.

What an awful picture to have used of her, I remember thinking that at the time!

Home deserved to be a number 1 smash, still gutted that it flopped :(

'Home' was seriously good. :( I was certain it would be a big hit, but then R1 snubbed it and it was clear it wouldn't do much.

 

I wonder what she's up to these days?

Yeah it seemed bizarre that radio snubbed it especially with will.i.am on it and him banging on about her all the time back then oh and as someone already said will.i.am was number 1 at the time
