ABBA have released a statement saying that they have been recording together for the first time in 35 years and they have two new songs completed. One of them is titled "I Still Have Faith in You" and will be used in an NBC special which will be broadcast in December.

 

Lmao so they really have just been sitting on this song for over 3 years :lol:

I am not disappointed, but I am not sure if I am excited. So far I prefer "I Still Have Faith In You" to "Don't Shut Me Down".

They've dropped the ball massively on this one by releasing the songs at 5.45pm on a Thursday night given no streams for the next 4 hours - including most curiousity streams will land in the dead zone between the two chart weeks.

^ if they are relying on sales & streams from just a few hours then there was no chance it was going to be a significant hit anyway.

Love that they are releasing CD singles and vinyl for both the tracks - should hopefully give them a chart boost!

"I Still Have Faith In You" is really lovely. Their voices work really nice with the song/lyrics now that they are much more matured/deeper. I love how long it is as well. Perfect song to lead the album with.

 

"Don't Shut Me Down" feels like a classic ABBA song and would fit in with any of their older albums!

I’ve just DESTROYED my credit card buying multiple bundles and formats.

Just seen ABBA on the news with a snippet for "I Still Have Faith In You" being played. They're front page on the BBC news website and the top 2 most read stories are now both ABBA.

 

I have a feeling they could do really well in next week's chart, especially having CD/Vinyls.

 

I hope they will get some playlist support, like NMF.

I really like both of the new songs, I wasnt expecting essentially a Frida solo from I Still Have Faith In You but when it gets going it’s gorgeous and the vocals are very good.

 

Don’t Shut Me Down is more what I expected and yet somehow less enjoyable, but it’s still got all the classic ingredients.

I just listened to both now. Just pure class. Those harmonies, that brightness and warmth to the ears... I've got goosebumps listening to this.
