May 12, 20187 yr Also, how ironic that the BBC rejected the song that's just come 3rd for Austria from Eurovision: You Decide. Slow clap everyone! Could you imagine the national headlines if we had sent it and come third. The Daily Mail would combust in trying to chose whether to praise Europe or slag it off!
May 12, 20187 yr Australia coming last in the televote was a complete shock and not deserved. Italy doing so well why I can't see. Really wanted Cyprus to win it,and poor Finland Saara deserved so much more than that, Never seen it coming that Austria would do so well. Happy enough that Ireland did ok and far from last although I did think we would do better with the juries,
May 12, 20187 yr "Next time in Jerusalem" is actually a Jewish thing - it's basically a saying for "next time in a safe place" for the Jewish people, people say that at family reunions/weddings all the time. So Jerusalem is a safe place???? Even now being the capital of Israel??
May 12, 20187 yr So Jerusalem is a safe place???? Even now being the capital of Israel?? Don't be obtuse. The whole idea of Israel as a state is that it's a "safe place for the Jewish people"
May 12, 20187 yr Jerusalem might not be terribly safe, but Tel Aviv surely is. I'd be shocked if it isnt the host city I’m good! It has! How are you doing? I'm doing fine thanks! Just living my boring life  Edited May 12, 20187 yr by Euphorique
May 12, 20187 yr After winning the contest last year Portugal finished rock bottom this time. Has this ever happened before to the defending champions?
May 12, 20187 yr Author After winning the contest last year Portugal finished rock bottom this time. Has this ever happened before to the defending champions? Austria shared last place with Germany in 2015, after winning with Conchita.
May 12, 20187 yr So how long until we get the detailed votes breakdown (i.e. how every jury member voted)?
May 12, 20187 yr Ukraine last year I think finished third to last. And with less points than Portugal this year (39pts). That is something I noticed with this years votes, there were more spread around.
May 13, 20187 yr I hope the BBC internally selects Surie next year and sends a call out to songwriters to get her a decent song. She has been a great ambassador for the UK and to have her moment ruined like that- she was probably terrfied, the guy could have had a knife in his backpack for all she knew. I could actually get behind this to be honest, just out of a sense of fair play!
May 13, 20187 yr The UK needs to do something because I can’t stand constantly finishing near the bottom
May 13, 20187 yr The UK needs to do something because I can’t stand constantly finishing near the bottom  Not even a stage invasion helped the voters to have pity on uk. The invader is known to be the same man who invaded the stage at the National Television Awards this year, and The Voice in 2017. SuRie was given the chance to perform again, but declined
May 13, 20187 yr hooray Israel! a massive banger and fabulous winner in the end  seriously impressive for Austria and Germany (the UK look a tad foolish now turning down the former oops), was a fan of Cesar plus it's nice seeing longtime Josephfave Michael Schulte get a $ma$h props to Surie carrying on strong after that absolute cockhead (cheers Joel!) cut her off ~ Eurovision a joy to watch as ever, especially with that great run of songs toward the end <3 2019 can't come quick enough
May 13, 20187 yr Author Congratulations to Netta and Israel! A thoroughly deserved victory, despite the drop in confidence from the journalists in the past 2 weeks. Thanks to everyone for making this another successful Eurovision season, here's to 2019 in Israel!
May 13, 20187 yr Was drunk and didn't post since the juries oops my thoughts: - YAAAAAAAASSS Netta!! The best top 2 ever, my top 2 on the night, so I can't be too mad at Fuego not winning. I think I preferred Netta on the night and it's such a unique song that sums up what I love about Eurovision. And it felt like the one from the second I heard that chorus, I'm glad that the little dip for her didn't actually come to anything and she manged to slay it. I adore Fuego, I've been stanning it all week, but in the end I wanted Netta to take it and I'm so glad she did! - Honestly BAFFLED at Austria? It was a good enough song but I can't believe the juries went for that in droves... I guess something had to be the Hey Mamma of the year. - Absolutely DISGUSTED at Australia last, Finland second last and Sweden so low on the televote, what the actual f***?! At least Sweden did well enough in the juries that he didn't flop *too* badly. In fact the televote was random af apart from the right top 2, Denmark so high?! Italy third?! I love the latter but was shook  - Delighted Rybak didn't post any threat at all! He didn't do anywhere near as well as I expected on the televote either. - All in all, great top 10 as I don't hate any of them, Denmark and Austria really shouldn't have been that high but still good songs. Actually really good results in all, I was only really mad at Australia and Finland, but I kinda made peace with them not posing any threat  Slovenia I didn't even expect to come close to Qing so it even coming 22nd was fab. MAZEL TOV Israel  Favourite winner since Euphoria, and up there with my fave winners.
