If no more Tory cabinet ministers could resign before I go on holiday to Spain I would very much appreciate it, I would like to have at least some money to spend when I convert my money into Euros.

He should have been sacked months ago. Instead he has been allowed to flounce out at a time of his choosing.

Now things are going to get livelier, as he'll no longer be bound by collective responsibility... :heehee:

Don't fully understand what happened but it seems like David Davis and Boris Johnson didn't want to upset the Americans and ruin the chance of a US trade deal, so wanted to get rid of the EU rules preventing chlorinated chicken and GM foods. And they weren't happy that Theresa May's decision was to keep such rules, so resigned.

They also want to avoid new regulations in the EU, give the Americans the NHS and strip away our rights. That is why they want it.

I just watched an hour of BBC Parliament, enough time to get to all the backbenchers. My god I didn't realise how the hard Brexiteers are overwhelmingly incredibly posh men over the age of 60 (+Andrea Jenkyns and Nadine Dorries).
I'd be up for an election if it was during a timewhere we'd actually have a chance at ousting the Tories, it'd just be like last time if not worse and more of a mess. The only reason we're in this mess is because the last election rather than sorting anything out just diminished the power the Tories had and whilst that's always a good thing, it's such a shambles barely a year later. Labour under Corbyn won't challenge and who knows it might come to where the Tories can't bail themselves out with the DUP like last time if they lose a few seats so we'd have all the fuss to end up in the same position.

Wrong.

Labour will destroy them. They are finished. But Brexit is a poisoned chalice, so do we want it right now? The one party state Tory media and BBTory will try to pin this Brexit mess on us - as the aftermath will destroy the country. Unless Corbyn calls a second vote once elected, we are in a bit of a catch 22!

The only way I can see things going smoothly is if May U-turns and stays in the EU. The route she's going is pointless, as it's basically staying in the EU with fancy wording. It'll be the only way for her to give stability. Of course revoking article 50 would require all 27 EU member states to agree to it, but I think that'll be one of the only things they could all agree on. It'd bring more stability to the EU and the UK. And given the current political and economic climate, it'd be better for both sides.

I really don't want to see Boris becoming PM, at all. I hope his resignations stays just that.

This is a classic coup attempt be it now, or in the future by Boris Johnson. Classic we sign a Soft Brexit and then in the future we push for a Hard Brexit as it's what the people wanted! The irony is I am pretty sure a Jeremy Corbyn backed Labour government would also back a Hard Brexit.

I don't get what people expect, really. But what I do know is this is going to be bloody awful for us as a country at the moment. If we have a Hard Brexit our country is going to be f***ed. There is no way we can cope with the short term implications, absolutely diddley squat.

There won't be a general election, the Fixed Term Parliament Act will see to that.

By the way- the public shouldn't have another vote on it (like the Lib Dems want), that's what got us in this mess in the first place!

Yes they should. The referendum was handled illegally, the result should be nul and void, and everyone now knows quite clearly what Brexit means: a shit show. The people campaigning for it cant even agree amongst themselves, never mind come to an agreement with the EU or any other country. Utter chaos, as predicted by Remainers.

So yes, people should vote knowing now what they didn't know then. If they want a total Hard Brexit then that's what they will be voting for and if they get it end of discussion, no need to agree anything with the EU, we just leave.

I'd also say Jeremy Corbyn played his part in getting us in this mess against Labour Party policy and continues to haven't got a clue.

Wrong.

Corbyn wants Brexit. No chance. The BBC have never pinned the mess on "us" eg Labour, they just point out there is no plan in Labour's ranks that is any better than the mess the Tories have come up with. This is because it's a fact. Please feel free to explain how Labour differs in any way from May re Brexit.

Jeremy Hunt is the new Foreign Secretary. I suspect Gove may have been hoping he'd get the job. Now that he hasn't, I wouldn't be surprised if he is the next to go.

Jeremy Hunt foreign secretary!! They are too weak to destroy the NHS and have given up for now, and so have moved him on to slimeball his way around the Europe issue instead!!!

Yesss bye bye, never darken a hospital again!!

Jeremy Hunt foreign secretary!!! Ha, the man who hid behind a tree when coming out of a dinner with Rupert Murdoch. This IS a comedy now!
